MEMORY CARD 3 — A Name for a Feeling

Category 1: Feelings & Decisions

Entering the end of the semester, Umi and Haruto's relationship becomes closer.

They start to realize their feelings for each other, but both are afraid to change the relationship they already have.

Umi especially felt scared.

She once said that she liked their relationship because Haruto was the only person who made her feel like she didn't need to be perfect.

If they try to have a relationship and it fails, Umi is afraid of losing that safe place.

Haruto has the same fear.

Therefore, the main conflict of the ending is not a big love rivalry, but rather the courage to be honest with one's own feelings.

Category 2: Episodes 9–12

Episode 9 — “What Do You Want?”

Umi started to avoid talking about their relationship.

Haruto realized it.

One afternoon, he asked:

“If you could choose, what would you really want?”

Umi was unable to answer.

He just said that he wasn't ready yet.

Haruto respected the answer.

They agreed not to force anything.

But the conversation actually made both of them think deeper.

Episode 10 — “The Last Day of the Festival”

The school winter festival is the last big event before the holidays.

Umi became an event photographer.

Haruto helped him carry the equipment.

Throughout the day, Umi took photos of her friends.

But he kept one last photo for himself.

When the event was over, Umi invited Haruto to their secret place.

He showed the camera.

Inside is their first photo together.

Not a perfect photo.

Both of them even looked a little awkward.

But Umi said:

“I like this photo.”

Haruto asks why.

“Because this is the beginning of it all.”

Episode 11 — “Umi Asanagi”

Umi finally admitted something.

All this time he was too afraid to think about the future.

He was afraid that if his feelings turned into a relationship everything would be different.

MEMORY CARD 2 — The Distance is Getting Closer

Category 1: Friendship & Conflict

After the school festival, Haruto and Umi get closer.

However, this closeness actually started to cause problems.

People at school started to notice them.

Some think that Haruto just happens to be around Umi a lot.

Some others started to gossip.

Umi initially tried to ignore it.

But the more comments came, the harder it was for him to act normal.

Haruto didn't really care about it.

According to Haruto, as long as Umi is not disturbed, everything is fine.

But it turned out that Umi was really disturbed.

Not because of the gossip.

He was afraid that their relationship would change because of pressure from other people.

Category 2: Episodes 5–8

Episode 5 — “Gossip”

One morning, Umi heard some friends talking about it.

They said that Umi was with Haruto too much.

Umi pretended not to hear.

But throughout the day, he became more quiet.

When Haruto asked her to talk after school, Umi refused.

Haruto was confused.

"What is it?"

"There isn't any."

“You look different.”

Umi replied that she was just tired.

For the first time since they met, the two went home without saying much.

Episode 6 — “Misunderstanding”

Haruto tries to give Umi some space.

However, Umi actually thought that Haruto was starting to distance himself from her.

They ended up having a few awkward days.

Mio realized the problem and spoke to Umi.

“You're actually afraid of losing him, right?”

Umi didn't answer immediately.

Then he admitted that he was afraid.

Not afraid of whether Haruto would be her boyfriend or not.

He was afraid of losing someone who made him feel comfortable being himself.

Meanwhile, Haruto talks to his best friend, Riku Hayama.

Riku says:

"If you care, don't just wait for them to talk. Sometimes the people who need help the most are the ones who have the hardest time asking for it."

Memory Card 1 — The Beginning of the Meeting

Category 1: Characters & World

Umi Asanagi is a second-year student at Hoshizora Academy, a high school renowned for its students who excel in both academics and extracurricular activities.

At school, Umi is known as one of the most attractive students. Her hair is dark brown and usually worn loose past her shoulders. She appears confident in front of others, but she often feels nervous when it comes to talking about her feelings.

Umi isn't the type of girl who deliberately seeks attention. In fact, because of her friendly nature and easy smile, many people assume she's always happy.

However, there was one thing that most of his classmates didn't know.

Umi feels tired because everyone thinks she must always be perfect.

At school, he has many friends, but only a few people really know him.

The main male character in this story is named Haruto Minase. Haruto is a mediocre student. His grades are decent, but not the best. He's also not a great athlete or a popular student.

Haruto prefers reading, listening to music using earphones after school, and spending time in the library.

Haruto and Umi's first meeting happened by accident.

One afternoon, Haruto returned to the classroom, having forgotten to take his books. He found Umi alone in the classroom.

Unlike Umi who usually smiled in front of her friends, the girl looked silent while looking at the school yard from the window.

Haruto didn't know what to say.

Finally he just said,

"Not yet home?"

Umi turned her head.

"Not yet."

There was no long conversation.

But since that day, the two of them started to meet often.
