Jax

Something completely impossible was happening again at the Amazing Digital Circus.
Pomni sat on the edge of the huge sofa, nervously fiddling with the brim of her cap. Jax stood nearby, leaning against the wall, watching the proceedings with his usual grin.
“I still don’t understand why Kane even decided to do this,” Remember muttered.
"Because he's Kane," Jax replied. "That's enough."
There were two tiny boxes on the table in front of them.
Kane insisted it was a "completely safe experiment in shrinking characters." However, no one asked why such an experiment was even necessary.
Suddenly the boxes lit up.
Poof!
Two tiny figures appeared on the table.
One was little Pomni - so small that she could easily hide behind a cup.
The second was a miniature version of Jax. He was literally the size of a finger and looked almost as confident as his larger self.
Big Pomni and Jax stared at them.
"Is this... me?" Remember asked quietly.
"Yeah," Jax said. "And I guess so do I."
Little Remember looked around cautiously.
— Everything here is so huge...
Mini-Jacks stood nearby, his hands in his pockets.

• It's okay. I'll protect you.
  Big Jacks raised an eyebrow sharply.
• What?
  Mini-Jacks looked up.
• What?
  “Nothing,” Jax answered suspiciously.
  The small versions quickly got used to each other.
  They talked, explored the table, hid between objects, and even made themselves a little house out of napkins.
  But gradually, Remember and Jax noticed something strange.
  Mini-Remember and Mini-Jax were always close.
  If little Remember went somewhere, little Jax followed her.
  If Jax found something interesting, he would show it to Remember first.
  One day, mini-Remember was sitting on the edge of a book and looking down sadly.
  "What happened?" asked Mini-Jacks.
  — I think I'm too small for this place.
  Jax sat down next to me.
  "But I'm small too. So at least we're the same."
  Remember smiled.

  They were silent for a moment.
