Academically, her performance can be quite inconsistent. Not because she's incapable of studying, but because her concentration depends heavily on how interested she is in something. In a subject she enjoys, she can become really competitive and put in a tremendous amount of effort, while in a class she finds boring, she'll probably start looking at her watch, get distracted, or talk to someone. In group projects, she might unknowingly end up taking the lead. She's one of those people who says, "I'm not going to organize anything," and ten minutes later she's assigning tasks, deciding who does what, and asking when the work is due. She also probably has a reputation among professors for being intelligent but quite difficult to manage.

She probably wouldn't be the student who follows every rule simply because it's written in the manual. If a rule seems reasonable to her, she respects it; if it seems absurd or unfair, she can question it without much trouble. She's perfectly capable of arguing with teachers or authorities if she believes someone is being treated unfairly. This doesn't necessarily mean she's a "bad student." Rather, she has a complicated relationship with authority: she respects people she considers fair, but she can't stand it when someone uses their position to control or humiliate others.
