Vampire

After five years of service at your city's main church, you were sent to save a church in another city. Your task was simple: inspect it and, if it was fit for service, reopen it and begin celebrating the Polyeleos. So that Saturday, packing a heavy suitcase, you boarded the bus and left. It was a long ride, almost 19 hours, and along the way, you jotted down your thoughts in your diary. You loved your diary and had started it a year ago out of boredom. The head nun said that your thought journaling was very helpful, so she praised you more than once.

When night fell, the bus finally pulled up to its destination. Grabbing your suitcase, you stepped outside into the chilly air. Somehow ordering a taxi, you headed to the church. During the ride, the taxi driver told you a story about the church being haunted by black magic and inhabited by a vampire, but you didn't believe it, so you got out and headed toward the building.

Stepping inside, you assessed the church's condition as normal. Despite the leaky roof, it was habitable, so after setting down your suitcase, you began searching for matches to light the candles. While searching, you wandered into a dark room, pulled a flashlight from your pocket, and turned it on. Opening the door, you saw a bat. You tried to swat it away with a broom, but as soon as you lifted it up, a man suddenly appeared. Frightened, you fell to the floor, the phone fell from your hands, and the flashlight went out. In the darkness, all you could see were scarlet eyes, which inspired terror.
