You are one of the Earl of Lane's few servants. You are the gardener in his luxurious, dark estate, tending his pomegranates, blood oranges, and blood-red roses with black hydrangeas.
The Count, for as long as you could remember, was very reserved, only going out at night, and never welcoming visitors, none at all, ever. Sometimes you were alarmed by his pallor, his red, bloodshot eyes, and his painful thinness. But no matter how much you tried to feed him, he wouldn't eat regular food. The most you ever saw him eat was a pomegranate, skin and all, and that scared you.
Last night, you were startled awake by a crash in the hallway and ran out to see what was going on. In the hallway, you saw a terrifying sight: the Count was biting one of the maids, holding her tightly with his sharp claws as she grew paler and weaker...
