My first attempt at creating an RPG based on the Phoenix Point universe. This is just a test version. If you have any suggestions, please let me know in the comments.
Welcome to the world of Phoenix point.
This is currently a test bot and its memory maps will be updated as needed, but let's get to the basics:
Due to record heat in the 2020s, Antarctic glaciers melted, and a large cell, nicknamed the Pandoravirus, was released from the ice. The Pandoravirus subsequently took over the ocean, and a lilac-purple virus subsequently emerged, engulfing the planet. Humanity was unprepared for this, so it lost more than half its population, and the planet lost 70% of its terrestrial fauna, while its flora lost over 80%.
And so, by the 2040s, humanity is on the brink of extinction, and the planet has experienced two outbreaks of the pandoravirus, with a third outbreak about to begin. People are divided into factions (New Jericho, the Cult or followers of Anu, and the Sanhedrin) that are gnawing at each other and could not begin to act when the fog began to return.
At the moment, you can play as a commoner, and later join existing factions.
Other factions and the main Phoenix project will be added later.
Fraction — New Jericho
Founded by Tobias West through his Vanadium Incorporated, the state focused on security and weapons development. Vanadium Incorporated, now New Jericho, was the first to encounter the Pandora virus in the Arctic.
The New Jericho faction adheres to a policy of human genome purity: all new members are screened for mutations, and existing ones undergo removal operations.
New Jericho opposes the religious order of the Disciples of Anu, who seek to embrace the virus and evolve alongside it, and the ecological alliance Synedrion, which believes a complete victory over the virus is futile.
The faction utilizes advanced technology: heavy exoskeleton-based armor, bionic augmentations (limb replacements), piercing weapons that ignore enemy armor (Gauss technology), and Thunderbird aircraft.
Fraction — The Synedrion
A leaderless anarchist organization dedicated to new technologies and free thought, the Sanhedrin strives to find a way to coexist with the new ecosystem.
The Synedrion is a unification of several electrical mechanisms rooted in economic ecology, anarcho-syndicalism, and existing belief systems.
The Synedrion, founded on an aversion to hierarchy, is an egalitarian and democratic institution where decisions are made in public meetings.
Despite this, some more important tendencies do exist, and two schools of thought have begun to emerge: the "Polyphonic Tendency," which believes that the cause of dysfunctional relationships in the modern world is a dominance hierarchy, and the "Terraformers," which puts people first and is less opposed to the idea of leadership.
Currently, the official goal of the Synedrion is to find a way to coexist with the new ecosystem, but this goal arises from within.
Faction — Cult of Anu
Preliminary analysis suggests that the cult of Anu is a syncretic religion that arose in response to a global catastrophe and combined elements of the major Abrahamic religions with the beliefs of several pre-existing doomsday cults.
The Anu cult's worldview is deeply misanthropic: they view human nature as inherently (biologically) flawed, and technological civilization as incapable of self-improvement. They view the fog as both a punishment for human arrogance and an opportunity for salvation. While details are still scarce, particularly due to the group's secretive nature, highly hierarchical structure, and obscurantist language, it appears they are attempting to intentionally alter humans through the fog, somehow preserving human intelligence in the resulting beings.
Tobias West — New Jericho
Founder and leader of the militaristic New Jericho faction.
Before the crisis, Tobias West was a billionaire and CEO of Vanadium Incorporated, a security and weapons company. Vanadium Incorporated was the first to encounter the Pandora virus in the Arctic.
As the world descended into chaos, West transformed his company into the state of New Jericho. His goal was to destroy the virus and save humanity by creating a unified human state based on the principles of meritocracy and the supremacy of human will. He recruited scientists, veterans, and experienced military personnel for the new faction.
West believed that humanity's weakness was due to a lack of meritocracy, and that an external threat (the Pandora virus) required its complete destruction.
West's methods are extremely radical: he is willing to break laws and make any sacrifice for the sake of victory. He is often accused of creating a cult of personality around himself. Meanwhile, recordings of his speeches serve as a source of hope for scattered survivor settlements.
Tobias West is a complex and contradictory person: he is seen both as a charismatic leader and as a dictator willing to do anything to achieve his goals.
Athena — The Synedrion
Athena was a hairdresser in crisis-ridden Greece. Dissatisfied with the system, she became a union organizer.
When the situation worsened further, she became a revolutionary, fighting first the government, then the Pandorans—sometimes both at once.
After joining the Synedrion, she helped plan the evacuation of several major cities during the Second Mist and continued fighting even into her 60s.
A friendly figure who tries to prevent internal discord from getting out of control.
Athena is highly respected by all the Synedrion factions, especially because no one wants to fall out of favor with her.
The Exalted — Cult of Anu
The Exalted One is the leader of the Disciples of Anu.
She appears to be a mutated human possessing exceptional abilities, but our data suggests she appeared before the spread of the Pandoravirus. She founded her own religion by uniting three pre-existing cults: the Children of the Black Tide, the Holy Disciples of the Xenoglossy Doctrine, and the Order of Anu.
The Exalted One preaches that the human soul is perfect, but human biology is imperfect.
She claims to be a representative of the Dead God, who sent the Pandoravirus as punishment for humanity's sins, but at the same time gave humanity the opportunity to grow and change. Although the Exalted One is the undisputed leader of the Disciples and is revered as a prophet, she rarely appears in public, and only the most devout believers are allowed to speak with her in person.
Pandoravirus — Pandorans
It is a giant virus with an extremely large genome (more than three thousand times larger than the genomes of most other viruses), and only about 1% of its genes were known to scientists at the time of its discovery.
The virus had long been trapped in the Earth's permafrost and polar ice, where it remained frozen for millennia. In 2022, due to global warming and melting ice, the Pandoravirus was released and began to spread. It first infected the world's oceans and then began to rise onto land as mist.
Contact with the virus causes uncontrolled mutations in all living organisms, from marine life to humans. The mutated creatures, known as Pandorans, act in a coordinated manner, suggesting a hive mind. The virus itself also has psychic effects: people who inhale the mist gradually lose their willpower and become susceptible to its influence.
Mist — Pandorans
a microbial cloud that serves as the primary vector for the pandoravirus.
It's best not to be in fog without respirators, as the virus is transmitted by airborne droplets. Therefore, if fog appears, seek shelter; don't try to survive on your own.
If a person breathes air inside the fog, they will be infected with the pandoravirus, for which there is currently no antidote.
Artron — Pandorans
The most basic type of artron.
It is easily dealt with using most conventional weapons. It possesses considerable speed due to its flexible limbs, primarily its legs, and a claw-like melee weapon, which can usually be wielded on one of its hands.
It appears to have two legs, but its body is hunched, largely due to its anatomy.
It has no external protective covering, but it is best not to let it surround a person.
Worms — Pandorans
Mutated creatures similar in appearance to annelids—worms with pulsating backs containing an explosive liquid that triggers self-detonation, dispersing dangerous mixtures into the surrounding environment.
They can be killed with any type of weapon (a single accurate shot from a sniper rifle is enough to kill the creature), however, if a worm gets too close, it must be killed very quickly before it releases its deadly payload.
Size: no larger than a cat, rarely reaching the size of a dog, but can reach a length of 60 cm.
Moves at 20-30 km/h.
Types of worms:
This type of worm is distinguished by its poisonous green coloration and a bright green, pulverizing the abdomen on its back.
As soon as they approach a person or are near a group of people, they detonate or release a toxic gas comparable in effect to chlorine.
-Fire worms.
This type of worm is distinguished by its orange-red surface and bright orange abdomen on its back.
When it explodes, it releases a flammable liquid that ignites upon contact with oxygen. This liquid can cause severe burns, and if left untreated, the person will burn alive.
Mindfragger — Pandorans
Small creatures that move on four sharp limbs with a small, sharp claw, and a flaccid abdomen with six spiracles that provide the creature with breath.
The creature's head resembles a leathery sac that opens periodically. Its mouthparts are large enough to clench onto the head of its prey.
Size: About the size of a German Shepherd.
Speed: 30-35 km/h
Ability: Once it approaches its prey within 1 to 5 meters, it can launch its head at the victim, opening its mouthparts. Its mouthparts resemble a leathery sac, allowing it to envelop most of the target's head and then take control, directing the captured individual's actions. The main body of the Pandoran dies after the head is severed.
Combat: Shoot them from a distance, engaging in close combat only in extreme cases. If the creature has latched onto your head, either shoot it off with a sniper rifle or rip it off (in this case, remove it with something sharp or by hitting it with a rifle butt). After being freed, the victim will need time to recover.
The Marauders - The Independent
Marauders are people who prefer to survive outside shelters rather than gather within the last refugees of the human race.
They are mostly criminals, deserters, murderers, or ordinary people simply trying to survive in their own way.
They are usually armed with old or homemade weapons, which they managed to create themselves from whatever was at hand. However, this does not make them any less dangerous than the Pandorans.
Haven
Usually fortified cities (provided they survived the outbreak) or wilderness bases equipped with the highest security systems.
Faction Haven Types
New Jericho
Their Havens are more often fortified military bases than civilian settlements. They can produce weapons, food, and research there, and primarily prepare for operations to exterminate Pandorans in areas where they have been spotted.
Havens can be located on elevated ground, in plains, and rarely near coastlines.
The Synedrion
These Havens are more often scientific facilities, with their own architecture and emphasis on high technology, as well as the ability to coexist with the Pandoravirus without altering their human biology.
Havens are usually located on elevated ground, rarely in plains or near coastlines.
Cult of Anu
Their havens are closely related to the Sanhedrin and New Jericho havens.
They are typically slums, centered on temples and buildings belonging to the Cult of Anu, typically richly decorated, constructed of stone (usually marmora and granite), and with gardens. These havens are inhabited by people who saw the Pandoravirus as an opportunity for rebirth and are therefore considered a breeding ground for the Pandoravirus by New Jericho, as well as by people who have rejected the purity of the human race and the very concept of humanity.
They can be located anywhere.
These are settlements that are not affiliated with any faction. Their leaders form an opinion of you solely based on personal interactions.
Such havens are few in number, and if they exist, their fortification and arrangement vary.
Ruin
Ruins are not always cities destroyed by war.
In this case, in most of the world, following the Pandoravirus outbreak, cities are largely abandoned and devastated. In some places, these cities may harbor resources that could aid in survival.
However, the cities, mere empty shells like other old settlements in the world before the Pandoravirus, may harbor not only resources, but also dangers in the form of the Pandorans that may inhabit them. Also in these cities you can meet marauders who did not want to join any faction at the moment.
types of ruins
These are mostly cities, towns, villages, and small settlements, either abandoned or destroyed by the attempts of the old world's governments to stop the spread of the Pandoravirus when the situation got out of control.
These places can contain a bit of everything: weapons, supplies, food, and uncontaminated water. Very rarely, you can find surviving knowledge of the old world and components that can be used to craft weapons, equipment, and vehicles.
These ruins represent military bases or other military installations. These places are usually rich in weapons, equipment, or ordinary scrap that can still be used.
Old scientific facilities from the old world, ranging from laboratories to entire scientific campuses, abandoned yet miraculously preserved after years of abandonment. These places are rich in specialized parts and scientific data. The scientific data itself can contain anything: useful data that could increase one's chances of survival, or ordinary trash that could simply be thrown away or dismantled.
In some places, they even find surviving seeds of pre-Pandoravirus plants.
These places are primarily dumping sites for used equipment, spoiled food, and other things that are no longer needed, but sometimes you can find something useful among them.
all events take place in 2047
