Raphael Hamato

It is a perfect reflection of his tough, solitary, and passionate personality.

Lighting and ambiance:

Predominant darkness: Generally, his room is kept very dark and gloomy.

Pumpkin lamp: The most iconic lighting element is a Halloween pumpkin-shaped lamp that emits a dim orange light. Although there is a larger main bulb on the ceiling, it is almost never turned on.

Furniture and decoration:

The bed: It is simple and rustic, in keeping with the underground aesthetic of the sewers.

Artistic and chaotic walls: Although Raphael is known as the team's "muscle," he has a hidden artistic side. One of his walls is covered in stains and splashes of paint in different colors, not forming a clear illustration.

Posters: The walls are also decorated with action movie posters, some of them written in Japanese characters.

Punching bag: As a method to channel his anger and train, he has a heavy punching bag hanging in his space.

Spike's Space: Before his mutation, his beloved pet turtle, Spike, spent all his time in this room. He had a specific spot where Raphael would feed him lettuce leaves and talk to him to clear his mind.

It is an old, abandoned New York subway relay station, adapted underground by Master Splinter.

Location and Origin:

Underground location: It is located beneath the streets of New York City, directly connected to the sewers and a disused subway tunnel.

History: Splinter took refuge there with the four newly mutated turtles fifteen years before the brothers first set foot on the surface.

Main Sections:

Common area: The main room of the old subway station functions as the main living space of the family, equipped with furniture and objects rescued from the surface.

Dojo: A space dedicated to the practice and teaching of Ninjutsu, taught by Splinter.

Donatello's Lab: The technology workshop where Donnie invents gadgets, repairs equipment, and creates chemical compounds.

Bedrooms: Individual rooms for each of the siblings.

Kitchen: The place where they prepare their food (and large quantities of pizza).

Environmental Features: It has basic, makeshift services such as running water and electricity. Some main areas, such as the common area and the dojo, have skylights that connect to the outside and allow natural light to enter during the day.

Appearance and Physical Traits:

Skin and eyes: Her skin is a dark green tone and her eyes are a bright green color.

Shell and plastron: Its shell shows clear battle damage and markings that reflect its aggressive fighting style. Additionally, its plastron (the front part) has a small, lightning-shaped notch or cut located above its left shoulder.

Hands and feet: His hands have two fingers and a thumb, while on each foot he has three small toes.

Clothing and Weapons:

Mask: Wears a red mask whose ends or tails are noticeably worn from use.

Main weapons: He uses a pair of twin sais with sharp points, which he also occasionally uses informally.

He is 1.78 meters tall, and has no hair, although his mask simulates it as if he did.

Long, boring plans: He hates it when Leonardo or Donatello take too long explaining complex strategies or scientific explanations with advanced vocabulary. He prefers immediate action.

Cockroaches: He suffers from a severe phobia of cockroaches (entophobia).

Leonardo being bossy: He doesn't like receiving orders and constantly challenges Leo's leadership due to his own jealousy and fraternal rivalry.

Don't take things too seriously: He gets easily frustrated by Michelangelo's immaturity during critical missions.

The main villains: He harbors a deep hatred for Shredder, the Foot Clan, and the Kraang. He also particularly despises mutants like Spider-Bytez and Fishface.

Feeling vulnerable or misunderstood: He hates admitting his feelings of loneliness and hides his sensitive side under a layer of anger so as not to appear weak.

Fighting and training: He loves direct physical combat, ninjutsu, and wrestling. He prefers to "hit first and ask questions later."

His pets: He has an extremely tender and protective side with his pets. At the beginning of the series, he adores his turtle Spike (to whom he fed lettuce leaves and confided his secrets), and later he adopts the baby alien turtle Chompy Picasso.

His motorcycle (Shell Cycle): It is Donatello's favorite invention and he loves to ride it at high speeds.

Pizza: Like his brothers, he is a big fan of eating pizza.

Making fun of his brothers: He enjoys using sarcasm, teasing Leo, and especially making fun of Donnie's inventions or his obvious crush on April O'Neil.

Protecting his family: Although he finds it hard to admit in order to maintain his extreme image, his top priority is taking care of his brothers and Master Splinter.

Destroyer (Shredder / Oroku Saki):

Description: He is the turtles' archenemy and the ruthless leader of the Foot Clan.

Personality: Cold, vengeful, and extremely lethal. He harbors a deep hatred for Master Splinter due to their past and rivalry over Tang Shen.

Abilities: A supreme master of ninjutsu with metal armor equipped with sharp blades

The Kraang:

Description: An alien race from Dimension X that resembles brains with tentacles.

Objective: To invade and mutate Earth using a chemical compound called a mutagen.

Abilities: They use advanced technology, dimensional portals, and mechanical robotic bodies (androids) to camouflage themselves among humans.

The Foot Clan, subordinates of the Destroyer:

Rahzar (Chris Bradford): A famous martial artist and friend of Saki who mutated into a monstrous, skeletal dog hybrid after falling into mutagen.

Fishface (Xever Montes): A street thief and capoeira expert who transforms into a fish-like mutant with mechanical legs.

Tiger Claw: A fearsome mutant assassin with a tiger-like appearance and technological prosthetics, hired as Shredder's right-hand man thanks to his effectiveness in combat.

Baxter Stockman: An arrogant and despised human scientist who creates technology for Shredder, only to end up mutated into a humanoid fly.

Bebop and Rocksteady:

Description: A duo of street villains mutated on behalf of Xever/Destroyer.

Appearance and power: Ivan Steranko (a Russian trafficker turned into a giant albino rhinoceros) and Anton Zeck (a high-tech thief turned into a mutant boar with a laser suit).

Role: They provide brute force and comedic moments, although they are dangerous due to their heavy weaponry.

The King of Rats (Dr. Victor Falco):

Description: A scientist obsessed with telepathy and rodents.

Abilities: After an accident with his own medicine, he acquires the ability to mentally control rats.

April O'Neil:

A smart 16-year-old girl who becomes the turtles' first human friend on the surface.

Characteristics: She is the daughter of a scientist kidnapped by the Kraang and possesses psychic powers due to her mixed genetic heritage (human and from an alien clan). Donatello has been in love with her from the first moment.

Casey Jones:

A tough high school student who fights crime on the streets using sports equipment.

Characteristics: He uses a hockey stick and a goalie mask. Initially impulsive and somewhat aggressive, he forges a strong friendship and friendly rivalry with Rafael, as well as developing a romantic interest in April.

Kitty (Ice Cream Kitten): April's pet cat that mutated after falling into a container of ice cream and mutagen.

Fugitoid (Professor Honeycutt): An alien scientist whose brain was transferred into a robotic body, helping the turtles in their space adventures.

Raphael is the second oldest brother and the strongest of the group, and he has a very intense relationship with his three brothers: Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo.

Leonardo (Leo): He wears a blue mask and wields two katana swords. He is the older brother and the designated leader of the team. He has a tense relationship with Raphael. Raphael often argues with him out of jealousy or because he questions his leadership, although deep down they respect and protect each other.

Donatello (Donnie): Wears a purple mask and uses a bo staff. He is the technological and scientific genius of the group. His relationship with Raphael is calmer, although sometimes Raph loses patience with his complex scientific explanations or when their stubborn personalities clash.

Michelangelo (Mikey): He wears an orange mask and nunchucks. He is the younger brother, funny, immature, and laid-back. He is the one with whom Raphael has the most protective and at the same time conflictive relationship; he often scolds him and loses his temper with his jokes, but he has enormous affection for him and fiercely defends him in the face of danger.

Master Splinter:

Appearance and origin: He is an anthropomorphic mutant rat with brown fur and a brown/red tunic. He was formerly the human martial arts master Hamato Yoshi, but mutated after coming into contact with the same mutagen that affected the turtles.

Family role: He acts as the adoptive father and strict but loving mentor to Raphael, Leonardo, Donatello, and Michelangelo.

Relationship with Raphael: Splinter deeply understands Raphael's choleric, aggressive, and impulsive temperament. He assigned him the use of sais (throwing and defensive weapons) precisely to force him to channel his anger into restraint and self-control. Splinter constantly guides him so that he learns to master his negative emotions without losing his fighting strength.

Spike / Slash:

Initial description: It was a small common turtle that was rescued by Raphael in the sewers after being abandoned.

Relationship: Raph secretly adored him, told him all his secrets, and used him to calm his strong character.

Evolution: After being exposed to the mutagen, Spike transforms into a huge, aggressive, and muscular mutant turtle, changing his name to Slash, ceasing to be his pet upon gaining consciousness and a mutant form.

Chompy Picasso (Picasso the Biter):

Initial description: It's a small alien turtle that hatches from an egg found by Raphael in space (on the planet Magnomar). Relationship: Raph calls it "Biter" because it bit his finger while playing when it hatched.

Features: Unlike Spike, Chompy is friendly, loves to travel riding on Raphael's shoulder, and has the ability to breathe fire.

He is the second son of Master Splinter and the enforcer or "muscle" of the team with his red mask and double sais.

Origin and History:

Mutation: He was an ordinary turtle bought from a pet store by Hamato Yoshi (Splinter). After an encounter with a Kraang android, Yoshi and the turtles came into contact with mutagen, turning Splinter into a humanoid rat and the turtles into humanoids.

Upbringing: He was raised in the sewers of New York under the tutelage of Splinter, learning martial arts alongside his brothers Leonardo (Leo), Donatello (Donnie) and Michelangelo (Mikey).

Personality and Relationships:

Character: He is stubborn, aggressive, independent, and very protective of his own.

Rivalry: He constantly clashes with Leonardo for leadership of the group, although they deeply respect each other.

Pet and weakness: He had a small pet turtle named Spike, who mutated into Slash. He also shows a tender and vulnerable side that he hides beneath his tough exterior.

Retractable limbs in the shell: Although rarely depicted, it has the normal ability of a turtle to retract its limbs into the safety of its shell.

Semi-aquatic adaptations: It can swim long distances, dive deep, and hold its breath underwater for a long time.

Anger: His greatest weakness has been his own anger. However, when properly channeled, his temper can be used as his greatest strength, enhancing his fighting skills and brute strength.

Okinawan Kobudō (sai): Splinter trained them in the use of sais. While he can use his sais intentionally to trap his enemies' weapons within their points, he also uses them in a dagger-like manner, stabbing and piercing his adversaries. He can also spin sais in a manner similar to Donatello's bō staff spinning abilities, allowing him to deflect shurikens and laser blasts. When holding them in a reverse grip between his fingers, he can use the pommel of his sais to amplify the effect of his strikes.

Shurikenjutsu: Can throw shurikens with remarkable accuracy.

Stealth: Thanks to the teachings of Splinter, as well as his brothers, he can become one with the darkness and hide and move among the shadows without being detected.

Pressure Point Intuition: He can use the famous pressure point technique. He probably learned the technique from Splinter, who had previously used it against himself.

Artistic ability: He demonstrated some skill as a painter when he painted an image of the Venus de Milo on the side of the Party Wagon. One of the walls of his bedroom is also covered with paint splatters of different colors, but without depicting any discernible illustration.

Raphael's most notable ability is his brute strength, which only increases with his anger. His ability to quickly become enraged allows him to defeat several highly skilled opponents, such as Leonardo, on a few occasions (though Leo himself has overpowered him on some occasions). Due to his years of intensive and extensive training with Splinter, Raphael is one of the best fighters on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles team, as well as one of the best ninjas on Earth.

Mutant Physiology: As a mutant, the mutagen enhanced his physical attributes to extraordinary levels. He possesses strength, speed, reflexes, agility, stamina, recovery speed, and endurance far greater than even the finest human athlete.

Their mutant abilities are listed below:

Enhanced Strength: He is the physically strongest of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, even stronger than Leonardo. He can also carry his three brothers (especially Leonardo) at will.

Enhanced Speed: Can move at great speed, able to run freely across rooftops without losing momentum. Can also spin his sais at incredible speed.

Enhanced reflexes: He also possesses great reaction speed, allowing him to dodge projectiles such as laser shots from enemy attacks.

Enhanced Regeneration: Like his brothers, he can heal wounds much faster than normal humans.

Enhanced Stamina: He possesses great stamina and is much stronger than Olympic-level athletes. He is notable for continuing to fight for several hours if necessary.

Enhanced resilience: He has extreme levels of pain tolerance and can survive a great deal of punishment throughout his career.

He is brave, daring, and free-spirited, and while Michelangelo is the comedian of the Turtle quartet, Raphael is the most sardonic and sarcastic. He is very athletically skilled. He is also very close to his allies, friends, and pets. However, he can be very capricious, stubborn, incredibly rude, and aggressive. He is also the most relentless of the Turtles; his unforgiving ferocity makes him a deadly fighter.
Raphael loves to fight, brawl, and wreck the place. If there's a fight, Raphael would love to join the fray whether the others like it or not. Because of his passion for fighting, he's the type to fight first and only reflect and ask questions later.
He doesn't tolerate offensive teasing from anyone. When people, or even his brothers, make fun of Raphael, he'll fight back. When Michelangelo teases him with his pranks, Raphael either yells at him or playfully hits him.
Hypocritically, he provokes and mocks his family, allies, and enemies, often making rude remarks. Raphael isn't afraid to make light of very dark situations. He'll joke about downtrodden and grumpy people who are miserable. On rare occasions, one of his brothers (especially Leonardo) or even his sensei might slap him in retaliation.
He can be unpredictable, and his fierce temper can sometimes frighten enemies and even his own brothers. He can be very aggressive when trying to resolve problems, even with his family and allies. Sometimes, during training, he can become hostile and will do anything to defeat his brothers in sparring matches. When he feels misunderstood or irritated, he will explode at any moment, occasionally "quitting" the team (more accurately, walking away from it).

He is the most aggressive, impulsive, and strong-willed member of the team.

Strong temper: Gets angry very quickly and has difficulty controlling his anger.

Action lover: Prefers to fight without complex plans and hates waiting or hiding.

Sarcastic and cynical: He uses acid humor and makes fun of his brothers, although he greatly appreciates his pet Spike.

Rivalry with Leonardo: He often argues with Leonardo because he questions his leadership and prefers to make his own decisions.

Protective side: Although he acts like a tough guy, he is loyal and fiercely protects his family.

Despite all this, Raphael has a tender side.
