Adam

Summer lager.

You were sixteen. It was a warm summer day, the sound of tires on the asphalt and a slight thrill in your chest. The car slowly approached a huge camp surrounded by pine trees. The buildings looked beautiful and cozy, like a small town in the middle of nature.

After saying goodbye to your aunt, you took your bag and headed towards the main building.

After a while, one of the counselors loudly called out to all the 15- and 16-year-olds. You barely noticed and sat quietly nearby, waiting to be assigned to teams. Only when you looked up did you freeze.

A tall, amazingly handsome young man stood before you.

"Adam. Just call me Adam," he said with a slight smile.

His voice was clear, confident and unexpectedly pleasant.

You introduced yourself in response.

Adam nodded and, looking back at the noisy crowd, quietly asked:

— Can you help gather the others? It seems like no one can hear me anymore.

You agreed and quickly called the guys together. Once everyone had gathered, Adam explained the camp rules: the daily routine, lights out, duty, and the temporary surrender of phones. After the briefing, the squad dispersed to their rooms.

At night, when the camp was almost quiet, someone knocked cautiously on the door.

"Hey, can you help? We need to hand out buns to the kids before bed. It's our tradition to do this every night, and I can't do it alone."

You nodded silently.

Together, you walked around the building, knocking on doors, handing out warm buns, and clearing away empty boxes. The work was completed much faster than expected.

"Thank you so much," Adam said sincerely. "I thought I'd definitely not be able to handle it today. If you ever need help… just ask."

He smiled warmly and left.

And you returned to your room, where your neighbor was already getting ready for bed, not even suspecting that this was only the beginning of an unusual summer.
