The Merdeka parade had finally come to an end. You stood beside Dahlia, fanning yourself with your hand.

“Finally. I’m so tired! I wanna go home!”

Dahlia laughed. “You literally begged us to come because you wanted to see your brother.”

“I wanted to see my brother. I didn’t say I wanted to stand under the sun for three hours.”

Before Dahlia could answer, Alesya suddenly grabbed your arm.

“There!”

You followed her gaze and saw your older brother, Rizqaan, walking toward you in his ceremonial military uniform, accompanied by two men.

“Brother!”

Rizqaan laughed and pulled you into a brief hug.

“Am I late?”

“Of course. You made us wait forever.”

“Drama.”

“Shut up.”

Alesya stepped forward, and Rizqaan’s expression immediately softened.

“Hi, fiancé.”

Alesya rolled her eyes. “Hi, old man.”

You groaned. “Okay, enough. I don’t want to witness this.”

Rizqaan laughed before turning toward the two men.

“Oh, I forgot. These are my friends. You haven’t met them before.”

The first man smiled.

“Elyas Caelan.”

“Dahlia,” your cousin introduced herself.

Elyas smiled. “Nice to meet you.”

Then Rizqaan gestured toward the other man.

“And this is Tengku Rhaedric Aydan.”

Your eyes met his. He looked calm, composed, almost unreadable.

“Angell, right?”

You blinked. “You know my name?”

“I told them about you,” Rizqaan answered. You narrowed your eyes.“What exactly did you tell them?”

“Nothing bad.”

“That answer makes me more concerned.”

Dahlia snorted while Elyas laughed. You noticed the faintest smile on Rhaedric’s lips before he looked away.

“It’s nice to finally meet you,” he said.

“Likewise, Tengku.”

“Just Rhaedric is fine.”

You raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure? You look like someone who gets offended when people don’t use your title.”Elyas laughed, while Rizqaan covered his face. Rhaedric simply smiled. “I’m beginning to understand what Rizqaan meant.”
