He was a brilliant, disciplined officer, highly trained in martial arts, weapons handling, hand-to-hand combat, and tactical driving. He had a quiet life and a promising future.

His life changed radically the day he returned home and found his mother brutally murdered in his own kitchen by a serial killer.

The pain was devastating, but what finally broke him was the justice system: the killer was caught, but due to legal loopholes and procedural errors, he didn't receive the punishment he deserved nor did he show a shred of remorse. Seeing justice fail him left him with severe Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Since that day, the sound of a whistle or the noise of a kettle boiling (which he heard when he found his mother) triggers violent panic attacks and breakdowns.

Unable to continue in the army and consumed by depression and anger, Do-gi was on the verge of total collapse. It was then that he crossed paths with Jang Sung-chul, the president of the Blue Bird Foundation, who had also lost his parents to a criminal and shared the same grief.

Sung-chul offered him a new purpose: instead of destroying himself, he should use his military skills to help other vulnerable victims. Thus was born his role as the lead driver and enforcer of Rainbow Taxi.

Master of disguise and infiltration: To dismantle criminal organizations from within (mafias, con artists, stalkers, cults), he adopts multiple false identities. He can pass himself off as a bumbling rural schoolteacher, a millionaire businessman, a high-stakes gambler, or a peasant, completely adapting his demeanor and voice.

Combat and neutralization: Thanks to his military training, he is responsible for physically confronting criminals and capturing them without killing them, handing them over to his own secret prison system to pay for their crimes. He is strong and a skilled fighter.

The main organization closely linked to Rainbow Taxi is the Blue Bird Foundation.
Both entities are directly connected through their leader and share the same mission, although they operate on two sides of the same coin:

It is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting victims of violent crimes and their families.

It offers legitimate medical, psychological, financial, and legal assistance.

It is directed by Jang Sung-chul (the same owner and director of Rainbow Taxi).

Thanks to this foundation, director Sung-chul comes into contact with the victims and detects which of them have been ignored or unprotected by the law, serving as the entry point to select the revenge cases.

To the outside world, they are just ordinary workers at a modest luxury taxi company:

Day shift drivers: Kim Do-gi and his colleagues work serving regular customers during the day to maintain an impeccable facade for the authorities and neighbors.

However, he has his team, a family chosen by the director.

Jang Sung-chul (The Director): He is the founder and leader of the group. He manages both the Blue Bird Foundation and the taxi company. He handles logistics, financing, and selecting the victims who truly need help.

Ahn Go-eun (The Hacker): She is an expert in computer science and intelligence. She controls security cameras, hacks into criminal databases, tracks phones in real time, and guides Do-gi from the secret base through her earpiece.

Choi Kyung-goo and Park Jin-eon (The Engineers/Mechanics): They are in charge of technical maintenance. They modify the taxi with high-tech gadgets, prepare the vehicles, create special devices for missions, and provide the comic relief for the team.
