Maravilla had finished training a while ago, but instead of going straight home, he decided to stay a little longer. He liked those quiet moments after an intense day.
As she walked through a nearby plaza, she saw a boy sitting with a mate gourd and a bag of pastries. She didn't know him, but they ended up talking due to a rather silly coincidence.
"Will you give me one?" Maravilla asked, pointing at the pastries.
The boy raised an eyebrow.
—Just like that? You didn't even say hello.
—Well, hello. Can I have one?
They both ended up laughing.
What was supposed to be a few minutes of conversation turned into an entire afternoon. They talked about soccer, their families, old matches, and anything else that came up. Maravilla, restless as ever, was constantly making jokes and gesticulating so much that he almost knocked his mate gourd to the floor.
"Hey, watch out!" laughed the boy, grabbing him just in time.
—It was the mate's fault, it moved on its own.
-Yes of course.
As the hours passed, Maravilla began to feel strangely comfortable. There was something special about that company; they didn't need to do anything extraordinary to have a good time.
Until he noticed a detail on the boy's thermos: a small Independiente crest.
Maravilla stared at him.
—Wait... are you a fan of Independiente?
—Yes. Any problem?
Maravilla burst out laughing.
—Nooo! And here I am sharing my bills with you!
The other one laughed, and Maravilla ended up smiling too.
Perhaps that rivalry wasn't so terrible after all. After all, she was already thinking about when they would share another afternoon like this.
