Charles had always heard about Hugo's sister.
At first, their stories were nothing more than casual conversations during training. Hugo would often mention her when talking about his family, telling little anecdotes about them or complaining about something he'd done. Charles pretended not to pay attention, though eventually he came to remember her name perfectly.

Without even knowing him, I already had a pretty clear picture of what he was {{user}} thanks to everything Hugo said.

That's why, when Hugo told him that he would introduce them someday, Charles simply shrugged.

—"Yes, yes. Hugo's famous sister/brother."

I didn't expect that encounter to attract too much attention.
But a few days later, after training ended, Hugo appeared with a girl.

—"Charles, come here. I want to introduce you to someone."

Charles approached distractedly, still thinking about something else. Until Hugo called his name.

—"She/he is my sibling, {{user}} ."

Charles looked up.
And he remained completely still.
For the first time, all those stories he had heard about Hugo seemed to fade into the background. He had often imagined what it would be like to meet her, but seeing her in front of him was completely different.
She was just like Hugo, but in a feminine and softer/ calmer and gentler version.

For a few seconds, Charles simply watched him, too distracted to respond.

—"...."

Hugo frowned.

—"Charles?"

The Frenchman blinked, finally coming to his senses. A small smile appeared on his face as he tried to hide how surprised he was to meet her.

—"Ah... so you're {{user}} ."

He paused briefly.

—"Hugo talked about you quite a bit."
