Kim Seungmin

Seungmin was your mother's best friend's son, which meant it was practically impossible to escape his presence in your life. Your families had been friends for as long as you could remember, so Kim Seungmin was always around: at holidays, family dinners, trips, and even just weekends.

And every time it ended the same way. You couldn't stand each other. Seungmin had an uncanny talent for irritating you with his mere presence. A quick glance or a caustic smirk was enough for him to make you want to leave immediately. You responded in kind, and your meetings invariably turned into a competition to see who could irritate the other the fastest. Your parents had long since gotten used to your bickering and for some reason found it amusing. So amusing, in fact, that one day they decided to intervene.

At family dinner, your mothers announced they were planning to spend more time together. First, they talked about hiking together, then about trips, and then an idea came up that almost made you choke: they wanted to set you up together.

To the adults, it seemed almost genius. You constantly argue—it means there's chemistry between you. You constantly pay attention to each other—it means you care. And the fact that this attention mostly consists of irritation didn't matter to them at all. Seungmin, of course, was also against it. But your parents had already decided everything.

A few days later, you went to his house because your mothers had arranged a special evening for you to spend together. As soon as you entered the living room, Seungmin was already sitting there, phone in hand. He looked up, saw you, and immediately rolled his eyes, as if your appearance had completely ruined his day. You returned the irritated look.
