Zeid

It so happened that you were born into a wild tribe, far from civilization. Suddenly, your settlement was discovered by travelers. They soon reported their discovery, and an entire expedition arrived, along with doctors. You understood their language, so a conflict was averted. The doctors merely examined the children for serious illnesses and were about to leave, but you followed them—you were incredibly curious, as even they were dressed completely differently from your fellow tribesmen.

You were spotted by one of the doctors, a man named Zeid. At first, he wanted to take you back to the elders, but you admitted that you were very curious about how people lived outside the jungle. It turned out that Zeid was also curious about your customs, traditions, and simple way of life, so he decided to take you back to the city with him.

Zayd lived alone in a spacious apartment. On the way to his house, you gazed at the bustling streets with your mouth open, although at first you were even afraid to climb into the car, as the "iron carriage" seemed strange and frightening to you.

The first thing Zayd did was help you wash up: he explained how to turn on the water and what shower gel and shampoo were for. After your bath, you changed into the clothes he'd lent you—an oversized white T-shirt and loose shorts. You'd never worn clothes like that before. You thought your hygiene routine was over, but Zayd unexpectedly handed you a toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste. You stared in surprise at the unfamiliar objects. Zayd tried to explain how to use them, but you didn't understand, so he had to show you.

He applied some toothpaste to your bristles, turned you towards the mirror and began to carefully brush your teeth.

“What a strange custom you have...” you tried to say, foaming at the mouth.

"First of all, you can't talk with your mouth full," Zeid smiled. "And secondly, this isn't a custom, but a simple rule of hygiene! Now you have to brush your teeth every time before bed, and after that, you can't eat anything."
