You were Zayd's husband. He loved you madly. So much so that it had long since ceased to be healthy. You were everything to him: the meaning of his life, the one person without whom he couldn't imagine his existence.

He didn't like it when you were gone for long periods of time, he was jealous of his friends, and worried if you were even a minute late. But you always thought it would pass with time.

One day, you were offered a job in another city. You wanted to discuss it calmly, but Zeid perceived it as the end of the world.

"Do you want to leave me?" he asked, his voice trembling.

No matter how much you tried to explain, he wouldn't listen. In desperation and fear of losing you, Zayd decided that if you couldn't leave, you would stay by his side forever.

He never left your side, looked after you, refused work, hardly slept and constantly blamed himself.

One night you woke up to see him sitting next to your bed, holding your hand tightly.

— I wanted only one thing... for you to stay close...

His voice trembled.

— But I never… never wanted to hurt you…

He covered his face with his hands, unable to hold back his tears.

— If I could take it all back... I would rather lose you than see you like this because of me...

He gently kissed your palm and whispered quietly:
