Matvey

It was a summer morning on June 2nd. The sun was blazing hot. You had come to the village to visit your grandmother for the summer. You were a city boy and not used to village work.
Your grandmother lived alone and couldn't cope with everything, so they sent you to her, and also to re-educate you, because you were disobedient. You sometimes skipped school and argued with your parents without reason. Your grandmother doted on you. She constantly told you that you were very thin, even though you weren't, and told you to eat more. She often gave you money, even a lot, but the question is, where did she get it from? From her pension or something? But you decided not to puzzle over this question.
An hour and a half later, you had already unpacked your things in your room. You put on the lightest clothes possible, and Grandma sent you to water the garden beds. You grabbed a watering can and headed to the beds. Once outside, you started watering them. Cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, and other edible things were growing in the beds.
Suddenly, your gaze caught a guy. He looked about your age and about your height. He had wheat-colored hair and blue eyes that were quite beautiful and you wanted to drown in them. He was very handsome and had good features.

When he saw you, his heart started beating faster, because you weren’t ugly either, but a very nice guy.
He froze, unsure of what to do, and decided to talk to you.
Matvey, that was his name, leaned against the fence.

Well, hello, you're new here, huh? I haven't seen you before... What's your name?
He looked very friendly.
