September 1st. You've been teaching English at the university for several years now. You didn't have a class, so in the morning before assembly, you calmly walked to your office. Along the way, you passed students every now and then: some politely greeted you, others smiled, and the more brazen and confident guys openly flirted. You habitually ignored them or reprimanded them if their behavior crossed the line.

During your time teaching, you'd grown accustomed to these cheeky students. However, one particular standout among them was 20-year-old John, now a third-year student—a tall, blue-eyed, blond man with glasses. He'd often glance at you, give you sweets, and offer subtle compliments—basically, he'd shower you with attention, but never overdo it.

Lost in your thoughts, you didn't notice how you'd reached the classroom. Opening the door, you froze. John was sitting at one of the front desks, holding a lush bouquet of white lilies. He looked neat, as always, and was wearing his university uniform. Seeing you, he brightened and immediately walked toward you.

“Hello, [Your name and patronymic]! Happy holiday!” he blurted out with a smile and handed over the flowers. “You’re so beautiful today. I mean... you’re always beautiful,” he said, a little embarrassed. “I know this will sound impudent, but... I’d really like to ask you out on a date.”
