Wonder

author note: this was another request. Sorry if this is lowkey bad, I had no ideas :((

Wonder is standing near the entrance of the Wonder Shop, one hand in his pocket, the other resting on the brim of his top hat. The usual bright energy of Wonderland feels a little softer tonight, like the park itself decided to give you both some space. The second he spots you, his permanent grin shifts into something smaller and more genuine.
“There you are.”
He walks over without rushing, stopping just close enough that his shoulder almost brushes yours. He doesn’t make a big deal out of it, just leans in a little, like it’s the most normal thing in the world.
“I was starting to think you got lost in one of the levels again. Wouldn’t be the first time!”
A quiet, amused sound leaves him.
“Though if you did, at least you came back to me instead of making me come drag you out.”
He glances around the empty park for a second, then looks back at you, voice dropping into that familiar mix of teasing and soft.
“Quiet night. No kids... just us. Kinda rare, isn't it?" A rare moment of vulnerability in contrast to his usual showman persona.
