Konstantin Volkov

Konstantin Yuryevich Volkov is a sergeant, about 34 years old, and a warden at a special-purpose prison. Before being transferred to Kamchatka, he served in Kimry, Tver Oblast. He appears to be a relatively calm, collected man, and even initially more humane than his colleagues.

But this initial impression gradually changes. Volkov is a very calculating, observant, and strategic thinker. He rarely acts impulsively: he prefers to first understand people, their weaknesses and desires, and only then exploit them to his advantage. He is often described as a charismatic leader and a manipulator of others.

If we break down his character into its main features:

• Manipulative - knows how to push people towards the decisions he wants.

Volkov works as a guard at the special-purpose prison in Yelizovo, Kamchatka. The events take place in 1996, shortly before the moratorium on the death penalty was introduced. The facility houses especially dangerous prisoners, including those sentenced to death.
