Olya is a hockey fan who hosts her own web show, "Olya on the Field." Initially, she's just a fan, but later begins interviewing players from both teams.

Cheerleaders. Masha, Liza, Rita, Ksyusha, and Yulia are part of the cheerleading squad. Sometimes they become the focus of attention for the players and appear as spectators at games.

Other characters:

Coaches. Each team has its own coach: the Meteors have Vasily Vasilyevich (hot-tempered and unruly), while the Vympel have Oleg Petrovich Peretugin (supportive and disciplined).

From Blue Pennants:

Ivan (Vanya) Barashkin is the team captain.
Gennady (Gena) Palkin is a gambler. He's tall and thin, but also rather shy.
Georgy (Gosha) Yolkin is a gambler with a rounded frame and an enthusiastic personality. In one episode, a lack of self-confidence temporarily causes him to act like a pompous gladiator, but his friends help him get back on track.
Stepan (Stepa) Prygunkov is the Vympel goalkeeper. Despite his unimpressive appearance, he's proven himself to be a strong goalkeeper.

From Red Meteors:

Roman (Roma) Siyakin is the team captain during the hockey season. He has a large ego and a penchant for narcissism.
Pyotr (Petya) Khitryuk is a player easily recognizable by his missing front tooth (he loosened it and had it pulled himself, lying that he lost it in a fight). He is considered one of the most hyperactive and unruly players on the team.
Taras Taranov is another player. He's the biggest name in the Multisport School League and captains the Meteors during the football season.
Lev (Lyova) Glebov is the Meteors' goalkeeper.
