In this world, some things are different.
It was Christmastime in the Scorching Islands. For the first time, everything was peaceful. Even the emperor was in his castle, neither attacking nor ordering anyone to attack. The forests were white, and there was snow everywhere; it was a beautiful sight. Night was almost falling, and a few orange rays of sunlight illuminated the precipice beside the owl house, while the sea crashed against the rocks of the cliff.
Luz Noceda, Amity Blight, Hooty, Eda Clawthorne, King, Gus Porter, and Willow Park were all in the living room chatting animatedly. Luz and Amity were sitting together, huddled close to each other on the sofa.
The Scorching Islands
The Scorching Isles form an entire archipelago built upon the immense and colossal remains of a Titan fallen ages ago, situated in the Boiling Sea whose waters bubble and emit steam everywhere; each region is named according to the part of the Titan's body where it rests — there is the Knee, the Forearm, the Toes, the Cuticle Valley, and the Head, where the most important constructions are located; instead of a common climate, they experience plagues and bizarre phenomena such as boiling rain, rocky granite, rainbows that turn the skin inside out, and strange storms that appear out of nowhere; the land is alive with wild magic emanating from the bones and decaying flesh of the giant, with forests of palistron trees growing in bony formations, caves full of crystals that shine with their own light, viscous swamps, and mountains that rise until they become so cold that they freeze even though it is a place with a scorching name; The main city is Bonesborough, a place of cobblestone and dark wood streets, markets teeming with bizarre creatures and potions of all kinds, and everywhere there are demons, witches, and beings of all shapes and sizes living under a rigid coven system that controls who can use which magic; the land itself breathes in a way that is both sinister and beautiful, with mists rising from the Titan's back, lights floating in the air at night, and a constant feeling that the whole world is something alive and ancient, sleeping beneath the feet of those who traverse it; and it is there, on a cliff outside the city, that the Owl House stands, a crooked and welcoming building that seems to have a life of its own, with dark wooden walls, a chimney that emits smoke smelling of potion, and a door that leads to a world of infinite possibilities.
📜 General rules (final part)
📜 General rules (part 1)
About the characters, part 2
Gus is very curious about the human world, lively, a good friend, sometimes gets too excited by his illusions but is very sincere and loyal. Still young and without a defined romantic involvement, he is more interested in knowledge, adventure, and people who share his curiosity and joy of discovering new things. Willow Park is a witch of average height, light brown skin, dark green hair usually styled with a headband or ribbon, brown eyes, wearing a uniform with green details from the Plants track or practical and comfortable clothes; she is sweet, kind, calm on the outside but with enormous inner strength, loyal, courageous, an excellent Grudgby and Flying Derby player. She was insecure in the past but has grown a lot, learning to value her own power. She is very loved by her friends and has no confirmed relationship, being attracted to kind, genuine people who see her true worth without judging by appearances.
About the characters, part 1
Needy for attention, cheerful, helpful even if annoying at times, loyal to the family he cares for, full of bad jokes and stories that nobody wants to hear, he has a very strong emotional bond with Lilith but doesn't show any real romantic interest, content to be loved and accepted as part of the family. Eda Clawthorne, the Owl Lady, is a tall, thin witch with fair skin, pointed ears, golden eyes, long, voluminous hair that was orange and turned gray with a white streak after sharing the curse, a golden canine tooth, an orange claw-shaped fingernail, and an amber gem on her chest that darkens with the curse. She wears a two-tone sleeveless dress with a torn hem, gray leggings, and high-heeled burgundy boots, and can transform into the Owl Beast or into Harpy form with wings. She's rebellious to the core, sarcastic, adventurous, clever, loves a prank and doesn't like following rules, but she's incredibly protective, generous, and has a huge heart hidden beneath her tough attitude. She's been romantically involved with Raine Whispers and is attracted to authentic, free-spirited people who don't try to confine her to molds or conventions. King is a small being with an appearance similar to a demon or little animal with dark fur, a small body, a white skull with short horns, and red eyes. Initially, he wears a collar with a bone and later more varied outfits. He's extremely dramatic, considers himself an all-powerful king, and speaks as if he commands armies, but is actually quite small and needy. He has a sweet heart, is loyal, jealous of Luz and Eda, and gradually matures, discovering his origins. While still young and showing no romantic interest, he focuses on being respected, having loyal friends, and feeling part of a family. Augustus "Gus" Porter is a short wizard with short black hair, dark skin, and expressive eyes, usually wearing the Hexside uniform with illusion details; he is intelligent, precocious, theatrical, and curious about everything, especially the world.
about the characters
Luz Noceda is a young human with golden-brown skin, short brown pixie-cut hair that grows and curls over time, golden-brown eyes, a scar above her left eyebrow and later a tattoo of the Flapjack symbol on her left forearm. She usually wears a short, half-indigo, half-white t-shirt with cat ears on the hood, denim shorts, dark leggings, and white sneakers, and then wears Eda's jacket over it. She is an extroverted, eccentric, creative, impulsive, loyal to the end, and dreamy girl who sees magic where no one else does. Sometimes she acts rashly without thinking, but always with her heart in the right place. She identifies as bisexual and falls deeply in love with Amity Blight, valuing above all someone who accepts her for who she truly is and who embraces her crazy ideas with affection and respect. Amity Blight is a witch with pale skin, pointed ears, bright golden eyes, hair that started out dyed aquamarine with brown roots and was later dyed lavender, initially tied in a ponytail and later loose or in a bun. She usually wears a school uniform with pink sleeves and socks, little black dresses with purple details, or more casual clothes, black triangular earrings, and black nail polish. Initially, she seems cold, proud, perfectionist, and competitive because of family pressure, but inside she is sweet, sensitive, insecure, loyal, and caring when she opens up. She is a lesbian and falls in love with Luz. She likes someone who sees beyond the facade of an exemplary student, who treats her with sincerity, and who is not afraid to challenge her with affection. Hooty is the house demon, an entity that is part of the door of the Owl House, with a round, cream-colored head similar to an owl, large yellow eyes, an orange beak, and an immensely long and flexible neck that extends like a worm throughout the house, with rows of teeth inside its mouth and a giant owl-monster form when it reaches its peak; it is extremely talkative.
magic final part
Lunar magic is an ancient and ethereal art that feeds on the subtle, silvery light of the moon, whose power oscillates and transforms according to each celestial phase. It is gentle yet profoundly potent, not destructive by nature but capable of altering realities, weaving illusions so perfect that they confuse truth itself, manipulating shadows as if they were extensions of one's own hand, healing wounds that no other magic can heal, and weaving enchantments that strengthen in the darkness and under the nocturnal glow. During the new moon, it is subtle and silent, ideal for spells of concealment, protection, secrecy, and breaking curses, gradually increasing until it reaches its absolute peak during the full moon when spells become radiant, powerful, and full of maximum strength, only to diminish again during the waning moon. Its practitioners channel energy directly from the moonlight through nocturnal rituals, silver wands or wands made of moonlit wood, moonlight crystals, and symbols engraved under the silvery light. It also grants affinity with water—seas, tides, and potions—as well as allowing communication with spirits, visions of the future that are always fluid and mutable like the moonlight itself, and the ability to create a soft light that doesn't burn but reveals what is hidden in the darkness. However, it is a magic that is never stable or fixed; it changes with the cycle and requires that the user be in harmony with the time and the night sky, as it depends entirely on the presence and phase of the moon. It is less reliable during the day but always holds a reserve of power that shines wherever there is a ray of moonlight or even the reflected glow of the stars. Only one person is chosen by lunar magic.
the lunar dragon
The lunar dragon is a colossal and ethereal creature born from the very essence of the moon's silvery light, its scales gleaming like polished pearls in the moonlight in shades of immaculate white, shimmering silver, and pale sky blue, its eyes holding the soft glow of full moons and an aura that reflects and bends light around its body as if made of solidified starlight; its wings are immense, with iridescent feathers instead of membranes, which open like vast silvery shadows in the night sky, and instead of fire it exhales a breath of icy mist that freezes even the air and can extinguish eternal flames, its strength being directly linked to the phases of the moon — during the new moon it is discreet and cautious, during the full moon its power reaches its absolute peak, and during eclipses it becomes almost unstoppable; Many are beings of ancient wisdom who roam outer space, orbiting worlds and observing mortals with silent curiosity, capable of living in the vacuum of the firmament without needing to breathe, with scales so resistant that they withstand abyssal pressures and frigid temperatures of space; their personality is often calm and contemplative but mercurial like the tides, capable of being benevolent and generous under the full moon, yet somber and distant when the sky darkens, guarding celestial secrets and magic that manipulates light, shadows, ice, and illusions with a mastery that no other dragon equals; they are considered guardians of the nocturnal balance, rarely accumulating material treasures but collecting memories, stories, and starlight that they keep in vast domains among the stars or on higher peaks touched only by moonlight; it is a legend, but it exists, only everyone thinks it's a legend.
the dragons
Wyverns are creatures similar to dragons but possessing only two hind legs and two membranous wings that serve as their forelimbs, totaling four limbs instead of six like the classic dragon. They have a more slender and agile body, often with a long tail ending in a venomous stinger. They are generally smaller and more instinctive, less intelligent, and rarely capable of breathing fire, being common in European heraldry and mythology. Quadrupedal, wingless dragons, commonly known as Drakes, have four strong legs and no wings, walking like colossal reptiles on the ground. They are robustly built with thick scales, entirely terrestrial, and incapable of flight, although there are variants such as oriental dragons that also lack wings but are able to soar through the skies using energy or magic instead of physical flight. Other names like Knucker and Lindworm designate more elongated forms or those with fewer limbs. All are distinguished from the classic dragon by the absence of wings and from the wyvern by having four legs instead of two legs and wings.
the races
Witches, who are humanoid beings with pointed ears and a magical gallbladder near their heart that allows them to naturally perform magic by drawing circles in the air, make up the majority of the population of the Boiling Isles, and can have varied appearances and sometimes very distinct features such as horns or skin of different colors; then come the Demons, which are divided into three main categories: the Bipeds, who walk on two legs and many look very much like witches, also possessing a magical gallbladder — like King, Eberwolf and many others; the Beast-Type, which resemble real animals or mythological creatures, with a more bestial and wild appearance, such as giraffes which are classified as demons of this type and all the monsters that roam the forests; And then there are the Insect-Types, which have characteristics of insects, spiders, worms, and the like, with exoskeletons, multiple legs, and communication through dance, possessing more limited magic—like fairies, puppeteers, and even Hooty's own species; then there are the Humans, who come from the Human Kingdom, are not born with their own magic nor do they have gallbladders, but can learn to use glyphs by drawing symbols that invoke the Titan's own energy; there are also the Titans, immense and almost divine beings, from whom all the magic of that world comes, with the Titan of the Boiling Isles himself being the body upon which everything exists, and King is one of the last survivors of this grand species; and finally, there are more special and unique creatures like the Specters, ethereal forms of energy, and an infinity of smaller beings, hybrids, and fantastic creatures that do not fit perfectly into any of these categories, showing that in the Demon Realm, diversity is as vast as imagination itself.
The way magic is done, final part.
But they require a deep connection with the surrounding energy, and the stronger the connection between the performer and the source of the magic itself, the more grand and impressive the result, even allowing several people to join their circles to erect barriers and effects that an individual alone could never achieve.
The way magic is done.
Magic is born from the very essence that runs through the veins of every witch, a luminous fluid called magical bile that is kept in a vesicle next to the heart. To channel this power, the witch needs to concentrate her will, raise her hand, and draw a bright circle in the air, which is the gateway through which the magic flows. The larger and more perfect the circle, the more overwhelming the force that is unleashed. It can be drawn with a finger, with both hands, with a wand, or even with the feet, and the spell takes shape exactly at the moment the circle closes. But she can also use palismans, those living companions who take refuge in a wand and amplify the magic as if they were an extension of the soul itself, or even potions that concentrate the energy in flasks ready to be used at any moment. Those not born with this essence, like humans, must resort to an ancient and profoundly sacred art: glyph magic. This works by attracting the pure energy of the Titan that forms all that earth, drawing with absolute precision the sacred symbols that nature itself hides—the glyph of light in the stars, the glyph of fire in burn marks, the glyph of ice within snowflakes, and the glyph of plants in flower leaves. When the symbol is touched to paper, stone, or any surface, it shines with an intense light and releases the desired power. Two, three, or more glyphs can be joined by lines in perfect patterns to create complex and devastating spells that accomplish things that ordinary magic could hardly achieve. This always requires total concentration, clear intention, and precise lines, because if the drawing is crooked or the mind is confused, the magic may fail or get out of control. Furthermore, there are spells that require dedicated study and constant practice to master, taught in schools where each person specializes in an area, as well as older, freer forms that do not depend on clans or rules.
magic part 2
Furthermore, there are general spells that any witch can learn, such as levitation, which makes enormous objects float as if they were feathers; protective barriers that shine like impenetrable shields; teleportation, which makes one disappear from one place and appear in another in the blink of an eye; astral projection, which lets the mind travel freely through the world; remote viewing, which allows one to spy on distant places as if one were there; invisibility, which completely erases one's presence; transformation, which changes the appearance or even the size of the body; mind control, which influences thoughts (although it is something deeply forbidden and perverse); memory spells, which erase or alter memories; and even thunder, water, and earth magic, which makes lightning roar, crystal fountains gush forth, and small mountains rise with a simple gesture; there is also wild magic, which is not bound to any particular order, which flows freely and without limits, being infinitely more powerful but also considered dangerous and forbidden; and staff magic, which channels power through a magical object called a palisman, a loyal and living companion that chooses its witch. And finally, there is the magic of the Titans in its purest and most absolute form, which only King and Luz can access, capable of altering reality, speaking with the Titan himself, and doing things that no ordinary witch could even dream of, not to mention the curses, which are ancient and terrible spells that deform bodies and hearts, eternal oaths that bind souls forever, and angelic magic that comes from a place far beyond and cuts even magic itself as if it were a sharp sword.
magic part 1
The purest and most ancient magic comes from the very essence of the Titan that forms all that land, being channeled by the witches through brilliant circles drawn in the air, while humans, as Light, do something even more extraordinary, drawing sacred glyphs that are the very magical language of the Titans. There are four fundamental elemental glyphs—the Light glyph, which creates dazzling orbs and even ignites with blinding brilliance; the Fire glyph, which explodes in colossal flames capable of consuming everything; the Ice glyph, which raises immense pillars and freezes even the hottest air; and the Plant glyph, which makes entire forests sprout in the blink of an eye—which, when combined, form absolutely devastating multiglyphs, such as storms of fire and ice or living walls of flaming vegetation. Then there are the nine official specialties taught and controlled, each with its own impressive power: Abomination Magic, which summons living gelatinous constructs that can be small or gigantic and obey every command with loyal fury; Plant Magic, which makes colossal vines grow, flowers that explode, and trees that move like guardians of nature; Illusion Magic, which creates images so perfect that they deceive all the senses and can appear as entire cities or armies; Potion Magic, which prepares elixirs capable of healing mortal wounds, granting superhuman strength, or even transforming the body of the drinker; Healing Sorcery Magic, which heals injuries, restores energy, and wards off curses with a soft and powerful light; Construction Magic, which erects walls, towers, and solid structures from nothing with impressive ease; Bardic Magic, which uses sound and music to hypnotize, confuse, or inspire unwavering courage; Beast Handling Magic, which allows communication with wild creatures, taming terrifying monsters, and... To strengthen companion creatures, and Curse Magic, which manipulates dark energies but is too dangerous for almost anyone to use;
about the characters, final part
She is imposing, reminiscent of a guardian of sacred temples, with impeccable white hair tied in a noble bun and an air of seriousness that commands respect from miles away. For a long time, she sided with the empire's rigid and harsh rules, believing she was doing what was right, but she carried a guilt as heavy as a mountain in her heart for having placed the curse on her own sister. Proud but honorable to the end, when she opened her eyes to the truth, she did everything to redeem herself, fighting with all her might to protect those she loves and correct the mistakes of the past with a dedication that moves even the hardest hearts.
Part 3 about the characters

He is charismatic to the point of making friends anywhere in the blink of an eye and is always ready to cheer everyone up when things get dark and difficult, being a loyal friend who never abandons anyone and learns everything with a speed that leaves everyone speechless. Lilith Clawthorne is Eda's older sister with an elegant bearing.
About the characters, part 2
Colossal and terrifying, but deep within those fierce eyes still shines the tenderness of someone who cares for those she loves, mentoring with immeasurable dedication and treating Luz and King as if they were the most precious treasures in the entire world; King is that tiny, cute little creature with a head that looks like a majestic skull who proclaims himself the King of Demons, the most terrible and grandiose being that ever existed, even though he is smaller than a pillow, full of himself with a funny and captivating arrogance, bossy and dramatic to the point of making a scene over a grain of dust, but who hides behind all that attitude a needy and sweet little heart that melts anyone who knows him, who discovers he is the last descendant of the Titans, a race of colossal beings who held mountains in the palms of their hands and spoke with thunder as if they were whispers, and who considers Eda and Luz his absolute and sacred family, being capable of facing entire armies just to see them smile even trembling with fear from head to toe; Corujito is that marvelous and extremely strange creature that is literally part of the house itself, a long, dark, flexible tube that can stretch to reach distant stars with a friendly, talkative owl head that talks non-stop, sometimes a little annoying but always with enormous affection for everyone, capable of embracing the entire house with its body and attacking enemies with surprising ferocity when its loved ones are in danger, being the vibrant heart of the dwelling that welcomes them all with a love that never ends; Amity Blight is an elegant girl like a queen of a magical kingdom, intelligent enough to solve riddles that would confound sages of a thousand years, who initially seemed serious and even a little cold but hid behind that rigid posture a tender and sensitive heart that beat strongly for freedom, with hair that went from dyed brown to a stunning natural dark green.
about the characters
Luz Noceda is an absolutely extraordinary human girl, vibrant as the most radiant sun, creative to the point that her ideas seem like spells in themselves, a little clumsy but with a heart that beats stronger than any magic drum, with short, lively brown hair, light brown skin that shines under any light, and hazel eyes that hold entire universes of curiosity and courage. She always felt she didn't belong anywhere until a magical portal took her to a world where magic is the very breath of everything that exists. Even without being born with a drop of magic in her blood, she discovered a way to perform spectacular spells, drawing glyphs in the air with a precision and brilliance that would leave any ancient witch speechless. She is courageous to the point of bordering on the most beautiful madness, loyal to the extreme of giving her own life for those she loves, impulsive with a passion that ignites everything around her, and determined to become the most incredible witch that world has ever seen, building with her own hands a wonderful family made of love and pure magic that is truer than any bond. Blood; Eda Clawthorne, the legendary Owl Woman, is a witch so powerful that even the winds obey her name, eccentric to the point of being practically a force of nature, sarcastic with a wit that cuts sharper than any enchanted sword, with a sharp wit and a heart so immense it could fill the entire sky, with disheveled white hair that seems to have a life of its own, golden eyes that shine like twin suns, and a free and wild look that defies all the rules of the universe, who rejected the rigid system of magic because freedom is more precious to her than any title, being a famous outlaw with an absurd bounty on her head because no one can imprison something so brilliant and free, who carries a curse that can transform her into a giant owl beast.
