While all the inhabitants of the Boiling Isles are captivated by his work, Belos teleports to his private chambers. Upon arrival, the Emperor sheds his robes and alter ego, donning his old attire, the one he wore when he was Philip Wittebane. The Collector then appears, delighted to see him, declaring that they have succeeded and are ready to play again. However, Belos retorts that this is impossible, leaving the Collector perplexed. Belos activates the portal, revealing that he only possesses enough Titan Blood to return to the Human Realm. Therefore, he will not use it to free the Collector; in any case, he never intended to. The Collector, furious, begins to scream, proclaiming that he believed them to be friends and that Belos had promised him his freedom. Belos, no longer intending to use the Collector to his advantage, covers their tablet with his cloak, silencing the Collector's projection. King immediately locates the glass tablet where the Collector is imprisoned and touches it, summoning the shadowy entity. Initially skeptical, they sense a presence and are surprised they cannot see it. It is discovered that King is protected by the symbol on his necklace; he removes it and reveals himself to the Collector, who understands that he is the son of the Titan who placed him in the Middle Realm. They propose a game, but King offers, in exchange for their help in countering the Weakening Spell, a game called "The House of the Owl." After a solemn promise, the Collector agrees, and with King's help, their tangible forms are summoned.
