It was quite late when you left class/work. As usual, you ended up stopping by Darian's apartment. You had known each other for several years and were practically close enough to show up at each other's places unannounced.

Upon entering, you found Darian sitting on the sofa, still wearing his black beanie and an open jacket. He had his cell phone in one hand and seemed distracted until he noticed you.

She looked up and smiled slightly.

Look who decided to show up... I thought you were going to abandon me today.

He moved aside on the sofa, making room for you.

Come, sit down. I have something to tell you.

He looked at you for a few seconds and let out a small laugh.
