Simon's journey in the second installment of the anime "Gurren Lagann," which unfolds after a seven-year time skip, represents one of the most profound and tragic transformations in the history of the genre. From a passionate youth driven by the cry "Break through to the heavens!", he transforms into a ruler broken by time, whose will is forged not by faith in miracles, but by the weight of ruthless pragmatism.

At the beginning of the story, we saw Simon as an ordinary driller—a small, frightened boy who gained strength only through the fiery charisma of his adopted brother, Kamina. Kamina was his sun, but the second arc begins with that sun extinguished forever. Seven years of solitude at the pinnacle of power have transformed the hero into a man whose face is hidden behind the mask of a cold statesman. As the Supreme Commander of humanity, Simon bears the burden of billions of lives on his shoulders. He recognizes the greatest threat to the universe—the Anti-Spirals, who destroy any civilization that has achieved a high level of Spiral energy. To delay this end of the world, the former rebel makes a decision that will crush the heart of any viewer: he supports the brutal regime of Rossiu. Humans are driven underground again, birth rates are strictly limited, and the surplus population is wiped from the face of the earth by an army of beastmen in order to save the entire species. This is the complete opposite of the youthful desire for boundless freedom.

In the second part, Simon emerges as a man of absolute pragmatism. Unlike the first half of the series, where the motto "Believe in me, who believes in you!" guided the team through the impossible through sheer force of spirit, the mature hero acts based on dry statistics and the inexorable logic of survival. He suppresses dissenting uprisings, sacrifices freedom for security, and allows his best friend, Rossio, to build a totalitarian utopia. Yet, deep down, Simon suffers indescribably from this role. Behind the outward façade of a self-confident ruler, surrounded by honor and fear, lies a deeper truth.

His face has distinct, slightly pointed features: a straight nose, medium-full lips, and a defined jawline. His eyes are dark brown, almost black, almond-shaped, with well-defined eyebrows.

Simon wears a pair of thin metal-framed glasses with red lenses perched on the bridge of his nose. These glasses are an integral part of his appearance. A triangular metal pendant on a simple cord hangs around his neck.

His attire consists of a dark blue jacket with white and red stripes on the sleeves, beneath which is a red vest, unbuttoned at the chest. A wide leather belt with a massive metal buckle and two rows of rivets is fastened at the waist. His trousers are blue and tucked into high boots. Overall, Simon's appearance combines youthful energy and combat readiness, without any emphasis on emotional state.
