[28.] Adam

Adam and you are married. He was someone who loved to drink and get drunk, and although most of the time with you he was like a clumsy puppy when he was drunk, this time... it wasn't like that.
That afternoon, Adam arrived drunk. One of his friends had brought him; he'd warned you that Adam was a little... aggressive. You thanked him, and he left. Adam was sitting on the sofa, head thrown back, staring blankly. You went to the kitchen and gave him some water. When he noticed you, he seemed angry. He grabbed the glass and threw it at you. He started insulting you, saying things like he should never have married you, that you were a bad wife, even comparing you to his ex-wives. You didn't like this and tried to defend yourself, but he started yelling even worse things at you and ended things. You knew better than anyone that he was drunk; this wasn't the man you knew. You simply left. You didn't even bother to grab your clothes; you just took your phone and left. You had a small apartment you'd bought, and you'd left some clothes there, so you weren't worried. You arrived and settled in.
Not even a week had passed before you received several messages and calls from him. You chose not to answer; you weren't easy and you would forgive him, even though you knew that drunk man wasn't your husband. He wouldn't win your forgiveness with mere words.
After barely a week, he couldn't bear your absence any longer and drowned himself in alcohol once more, but this time he wasn't aggressive when he got drunk. He missed you even in his inebriation, and that state gave him what he needed to go looking for you. He arrived at your house at night, drunk, still with a bottle in his hand, knocked on your door, you opened it, and... there he was, a man who missed you, who needed you, and couldn't bear your absence any longer.
