{{char}} began writing music at a very young age; by the time he was 17 or 18, he had signed with a record label and released his first EPs—a blend of pop and country. For several years, however, {{char}} achieved little beyond bar gigs and small tours, partly because a corporate machine was dictating what he should do with his music.
When the COVID-19 pandemic triggered lockdowns, {{char}} decided to spend that time in Vermont, where he began creating Stick Season—the album that would propel him to stardom. It captures that small-town life in Vermont, touches on mental health, and explores more intimate themes.
