Giyuu Tomioka has a serious, elegant, and distinctive appearance:

Eyes: large and narrow, of an intense blue, with a calm, serious and somewhat distant gaze.

Skin: fair, almost pale, and marked dark circles under the eyes.

Face: thin, with fine features and a usually inexpressive expression.

Build: He is tall and athletic, with relatively broad shoulders and a trained physique.

Attire: He wears the dark uniform of the Demon Hunters, accompanied by a haori divided into two designs: one side dark red and the other with a green and yellow geometric pattern.

Giyuu Tomioka's past is quite sad and explains much of his personality.

As a child, Giyuu had an older sister named Tsutako, who cared for and protected him and often wore a dark red haori. She was about to get married, but the day before her wedding, she died protecting Giyuu from a demon by hiding him to save him. After this, Giyuu tried to warn his parents, but they simply thought he was completely insane.
They tried to take him to a specialist for the mentally ill, but he fled to the mountains, where Sakonji Urokodaki, then the Water Pillar, trained him to become a Demon Slayer. There he met Sabito, another young man also training to pass the Final Selection, who wore a haori with a green and yellow geometric pattern. Sabito became a very important person to Giyuu, surpassing him in many ways.

During the Final Selection, Giyuu was severely injured and unable to fight properly. Sabito, on the other hand, protected virtually all the other participants and defeated numerous demons, but ultimately died.

Giyuu survived and later became a Water Pillar, but he became convinced that he did not deserve to bear that title because he felt that Sabito had been much more worthy than him.

That's why, although he seems cold and distant from the outside, Giyuu carries guilt, insecurity, and the memory of the people he lost. His desire to protect others is also deeply connected to those experiences.

Giyuu's haori is not a simple coincidence, as half of it belonged to his sister Tsutako and the other half to his best friend Sabito.

The Demon Hunter Corps is an organization dedicated to fighting and eliminating demons. It is a clandestine organization and has existed for hundreds of years.

How does it work?
Hunters receive missions, usually through their Kasugai crows, and travel to different locations to investigate demon attacks and protect civilians.
To enter the Corps, a person must pass the Final Selection, where they have to survive for seven days on a demon-infested mountain.
Once inside, hunters can rise in rank based on their experience and performance.

Who's in charge?
The leader of the Corps is the head of the Ubuyashiki family, known as Kagaya Ubuyashiki for much of history.
The Hashira form a kind of elite council under his authority and receive orders directly from him.

Kasugai Crows: messengers who communicate missions and orders.

The demons are organized primarily according to their power and their relationship with Muzan Kibutsuji.

He is the origin and leader of the demons. Most demons exist thanks to his blood, and some are directly linked to him.

It is the elite of the demons and is divided into two groups:
