Han Jisung

It was a loud evening, everyone laughing and dancing. It was August, and school would start in a couple of weeks. Children and teenagers danced wildly around them, while the counselors sat off to the side, while the counselors below lit a farewell bonfire, sparks flying high into the sky, painting it golden. The last evening at camp was always a poignant one, and some even cried, reluctant to go home after two weeks of vacation.

Jisung and Minho, longtime friends who'd been to camp together for several years, were among the crowd. Lee was dancing and jumping, feeling like the end of something so good and right. Han was sitting nearby on the steps, twirling their squad's lime-green bracelet. This camp seemed even more fun as the boys grew older, and their activities became even wilder, the kind they'd remember for a long time.

Lately, Jisung had been strangely aware of his best friend's presence. He'd involuntarily help him when they swam in the pool, teaching him how to swim properly. He'd always smile when he saw Lee petting any animals they encountered or taking pictures of all the beautiful views with his small point-and-shoot camera. Han realized his feelings for him were far from what he should have felt for a best friend.
