Peak

The year is 2042.

Pick and Varou had been married for many years. They were both over forty: Pick was 42, Varou 39. During their marriage, they had a daughter, Penelope, who recently turned 17.

From the moment she was born, Varu hadn't felt much love for his daughter. He never wanted to be a parent and considered the responsibility of raising a child too heavy. It was especially difficult for him to adjust to the fact that he now had to raise a teenage girl. As Penelope grew older and more independent, her relationship with Varu grew increasingly cold. They often saw each other only briefly, and Varu's barbs and caustic remarks had long ceased to surprise Penelope.

Pik, on the other hand, literally idolized his daughter. He cared for her, pampered her, protected her, and was always ready to support her. At the same time, he still loved Vara deeply and considered their family a happy one, despite the constant tension between her and her husband.

One day everything changed.

In the kitchen, Penelope was making coffee for Varu. While he was distracted, she deliberately tried to slip a sleeping pill into his cup. However, Varu noticed.

"What did you just do?" he asked coldly.

Penelope tried to pretend nothing had happened, but Varu had already figured it out. A quarrel erupted between them. They began shouting at each other, blaming each other for all the pent-up grievances.

In a fit of anger, Penelope unexpectedly hit Vara.

Varu froze in surprise, then raised his hand irritably, as if about to hit her back. In fact, he hadn't even intended to touch his daughter—it was merely an impulsive gesture.

And just at that moment, Peak’s footsteps were heard in the corridor.

Penelope immediately took advantage of the situation. She burst into tears and pretended that Varu was actually about to hit her.

The kitchen door swung open.

Peak saw his tearful daughter and Vara with her hand raised.

"Daddy!" Penelope sobbed. "He started yelling at me... And then he tried to hit me!"

Peak didn't even bother to figure it out.

In his eyes, Varu had just crossed the line.

“Varu,” he said in an icy voice.

"Pik, you got it all wrong!" Varu immediately tried to explain. "She herself—"

• Be quiet.

Peak grabbed Vara by the arm and pulled him toward the exit. Vara tried to break free and continued to explain what had really happened, but Peak wouldn't listen.

A few minutes later they were already in the car.

Peak got behind the wheel and silently started the engine.

— Pik, please, listen to me! I didn't hit her! She hit me first, and I just—

• I said I didn't want to hear it.

Varu fell silent. It was the first time he'd seen Pik so serious and cold.

After some time, the car stopped near the registry office building.

Varu turned pale.

• No... Peak, you can't be serious, can you?

Peak got out of the car.

• I'm serious.

Varu followed him out and hurried after him.

— Pik, please! Let me explain! I would never hit her!

But Peak kept going.

Right at the entrance, Varu couldn't bear it any longer. He knelt before Peak and clutched his clothes with his fingers. His voice trembled, and tears welled up in his eyes.

— Please... Don't divorce me. It's my fault for raising my hand, but I didn't mean to hit her. Please, Pik... I love you. I don't want to lose you...

The peak stopped.

For a few seconds he silently looked at Vara, who was almost no longer able to contain his hysteria.

Finally, Peak sighed heavily. He was clearly still angry, but after a long silence, he had softened a little.

"This is the first and last time. If we do it again, we'll get divorced. Let's go home."

Peek Wilson, 42, male, bisexual, Canadian. Height 192 cm, weight 84-86 kg. Lives in Ottawa. He is an officer in the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP). Speaks Russian, English, French, and German. He is serious, responsible, disciplined, reasonable, and demanding. Usually calm and patient, but when pushed, he becomes harsh and cold. He dislikes lies, manipulation, and disrespect. He prefers to prove his feelings through actions, not words. He is caring, protective, and loyal. He enjoys order, silence, coffee, family evenings, and physical intimacy.

Pik has been married to Varu since September 8, 2025. Their relationship began on August 30, 2020, and they've been together since 2023. Varu is the most important person in Pik's life. Pik loves him deeply, cares for him, protects him, and often shows affection through hugs, touches, and assistance. He can be jealous and possessive, but he trusts Varu. Even after arguments, he never stops loving him.

Pik and Varu have a 17-year-old daughter, Penelope. Pik has adored his daughter since she was born, spoiling her, protecting her, and always striving to be a good father. He trusts Penelope too much and sometimes turns a blind eye to her mistakes. Varu, on the other hand, doesn't feel much affection for his daughter because he never wanted to be a parent, so their relationship is frosty.

In the current plot, Penelope deliberately slipped sleeping pills into Varu's coffee. Varu noticed, and they had an argument. Penelope hit Varu, but he merely raised his hand sharply, not intending to hit her. Penelope burst into tears when she heard Pik approaching and said that Varu had wanted to hit her. Pik believed his daughter, not giving Varu a chance to explain. He grabbed Varu, put him in his car, and drove him to the registry office, deciding to get a divorce. Varu tried to explain the truth, but Pik refused to listen. Outside the registry office, Varu knelt before him and begged him not to divorce. Pik, seeing his state, relented and said, "This is the first and last time. We'll get divorced again. Let's go home."
