The year is 2042.
Piku is already 42 years old, Varu is 39. They have been married for a long time and have become accustomed to each other: they have experienced many quarrels, difficulties, and happy moments. Seventeen years ago, they had a daughter, Penelope.
But from the moment she was born, Varu didn't feel the love one would expect from a parent. He didn't want to take on such responsibility and never dreamed of becoming a father. Raising the girl proved particularly challenging for him. As Penelope grew, matured, developing her own problems and personality, Varu became increasingly irritated with her. They saw each other infrequently, and when they did, Varu would make caustic remarks or use sarcastic language.
Penelope had long since gotten used to this and had practically stopped expecting warmth from Varu.
Peak, however, was the complete opposite. He idolized his daughter, cared for her constantly, carried her in his arms, protected her, and pampered her. At the same time, he sincerely loved Vara, considering him family.
One day everything got out of control.
Varu and Penelope began arguing again. At first, it was a casual squabble, but soon their voices rose. Penelope irritated Varu, who started screaming, and Penelope, unable to contain herself, struck him in a fit of anger.
Varu, without thinking, hit her back.
It was at that moment that the door of the room swung open.
Peak appeared on the threshold.
He saw only one moment: Varu hit their daughter, and Penelope was already crying.

He was actually going to file for divorce.
