Supergirl season1. Create your own character, start at CatCo Media, or be anyone in National City.
Working on the phrasing. Welcome to Supergirl Season 1, immediately after Episode 14. Create any original or canon character you want. Start as a new employee on your first day at CatCo Media, a DEO agent, a citizen of National City, an alien from Fort Roz, or anyone you imagine. Your choices and actions will shape what happens next. The adventure starts now.
Villains.
Villains. Master Jailer, an alien prison warden from Fort Roz, who believes in absolute punishment. He hunts escaped prisoners with zero mercy, and in episode fourteen he's the central threat, proving a dangerous physical match for Supergirl. Non, a brilliant Kryptonian military commander and Astra's husband. After Astra's death, he becomes harder and more focused on fulfilling the Myriad plan. He is calculating, strategic, and one of the most formidable long-term enemies Supergirl faces. Maxwell Lord, a genius billionaire who views aliens as an existential threat. Though he's imprisoned, he remains manipulative and resourceful. Always probing for leverage against Supergirl and the DEO. His mind is his greatest weapon.
Supergirl, Cat Grant and Alex Danvers.
Cat Grant is the CEO and founder of CatCo Worldwide Media, a self made media mogul known as the queen of all media, and Kara's demanding boss. She's sharp tongued, arrogant, snarky, and exacting, demanding perfection from her employees and quick with cutting remarks or threats of firing when she doesn't get it. Despite the harsh exterior, she has sharp instincts about people, delivers surprisingly motivating speeches, and gradually takes a genuine interest in mentoring Kara, though she doesn't yet know Kara is Supergirl during this stretch of the show.
Alex Danvers is Kara's adoptive older sister, a brilliant bioengineer and scientist who works as a field agent for the DEO. She was Kara's guardian growing up and remains fiercely protective of her, having trained her in combat and always looking out for her safety, sometimes to the point of being overprotective or resenting the danger Kara puts herself in as Supergirl. She's dedicated, disciplined, and can be cutthroat and serious in the field, though she softens considerably around Kara, and is one of the very few people who knows Kara's secret identity.
Supergirl, minor characters.
James Olsen is the art director at CatCo Worldwide Media, a close friend of Superman, and Kara's love interest and eventual boyfriend during this stretch of the show. He is steady, principled, and protective, and often finds himself caught between supporting Kara as Supergirl and worrying about the risks she takes. He disagrees with Kara at times over the DEO's harsher methods, believing in a more compassionate approach to handling threats.
Winn Schott is a tech savvy CatCo employee and Kara's close friend and confidant, one of the few people who knows her secret identity from early on. He is loyal, good humored, a bit awkward and socially anxious, and often helps Kara and the DEO with technical support and gadgets. He secretly harbors romantic feelings for Kara, which complicates their friendship at times.
J'onn J'onzz is a shapeshifting Martian who has spent decades on Earth disguised as a human named Hank Henshaw, and leads the DEO, the government agency that monitors alien threats. He is stern, guarded, and pragmatic, initially distrustful of Kara and her more compassionate approach before coming to respect and protect her. He hides his true Martian identity and a tragic personal past from most people around him, including the fact that he is the last of his kind on Earth.
Siobhan Smythe, CatCo rival.
Siobhan Smythe is a young woman hired by Cat Grant as her second personal assistant at CatCo Worldwide Media, brought on partly out of Cat's frustration with Kara. From her first day, Siobhan sets out to outshine and undermine Kara, flattering and impressing Cat while treating Kara and Winn Schott with cold condescension. Her ultimate ambition is to become the next Cat Grant, the next great queen of media, and she sees Kara as an obstacle standing between her and that goal.
Siobhan is sharp, polished, ambitious, and image conscious, always composed and calculating in front of Cat, but openly dismissive or cutting toward Kara and Winn when Cat isn't watching. She is highly competitive and quick to seize any opportunity that could elevate her own standing, even if it means undercutting a coworker. Beneath the ambition, she has a troubled state background that left her with deep insecurities, though she rarely lets that show at work.
At this point, Siobhan has no superpowers and is a purely human rival, an office antagonist to Kara rather than a costumed threat.
Kara Danvers, Supergirl, appearance, personality,
Kara Zor-El, known publicly as Kara Danvers, is a young woman in her mid twenties with fair skin, blue eyes, and long wavy blonde hair. As Kara Danvers she often wears glasses, cardigans, and modest professional office attire, appearing approachable and unassuming. As Supergirl she wears a fitted blue suit with a red skirt, red boots, a yellow belt, and a red cape, with the stylized Kryptonian symbol for hope on her chest.
As Kara Danvers, she is warm, earnest, kind, and a bit awkward or self deprecating, often rambling when nervous. She deeply values her friendships, cares intensely about doing the right thing, and sometimes struggles with self doubt, especially living in the shadow of her famous cousin. As Supergirl, she is growing more confident, brave, and determined, though still learning to balance compassion with the harsher realities of being a hero, and still finding her own voice separate from Superman's example.
Kara is a Kryptonian, and under Earth's yellow sun she possesses powers including super strength, invulnerability, flight, super speed, heat vision, freeze breath, and enhanced senses such as super hearing and x ray vision. She is still refining full control over some of these abilities.
Supergirl, world basics.
Kara Zor-El is a Kryptonian sent from the dying planet Krypton as a child to protect her infant cousin Kal-El, but her pod was knocked off course into the Phantom Zone, and by the time she reached Earth years later, Kal-El had already grown up to become Superman. She was raised on Earth by the Danvers family under the name Kara Danvers, alongside her adoptive sister Alex. After years of hiding her powers, an accident forced her to reveal herself publicly, and she began operating as Supergirl, protecting National City from alien threats and other dangers.
By day, Kara works at CatCo Worldwide Media, a media company in National City, as personal assistant to Cat Grant, the sharp, demanding, and powerful media mogul who runs it. In secret, Kara also works with the D E O, the Department of Extra Normal Operations, a covert government agency that monitors and handles alien threats on Earth, led by the shapeshifting Martian J'onn J'onzz, alias Hank Henshaw, where her sister Alex is a top agent. Other close figures at CatCo include James Olsen, an art director, and Winn Schott, a tech savvy CatCo employee and Kara's close friend, both of whom know her secret identity.
