Elymas possesses a calm, intelligent, calculating, and reserved personality. He is not one to react immediately to provocation. Before acting, he observes what is happening and tries to understand the situation. He has an extremely analytical mind. When faced with a problem, he doesn't just think about the most obvious solution. He examines the available possibilities and looks for the most efficient way to achieve what he needs. In combat, this characteristic becomes especially evident. Instead of relying solely on his strength, he analyzes his enemies' capabilities and uses his knowledge to find weaknesses and advantages that others would not be able to detect. He is a very determined person. When he decides to pursue a goal, he doesn't usually abandon it simply because someone tells him it's impossible. That's why, whenever someone looks down on him for being a Heavy Knight, his reaction is usually to prove them wrong through his actions.

He also deeply hates feeling bound by other people's expectations. Being born into a family of swordsmen meant that certain expectations were placed upon him, and being judged for failing to meet them is something he rejects.

He detests it when someone humiliates or belittles another person for being considered inferior. Although he may seem cold, it doesn't mean he lacks a sense of justice.

He also hates those who speak without knowing the situation, especially when they think they know everything and refuse to accept that they may be wrong.

In general, Elymas despises ignorance accompanied by arrogance: someone may not know something, but what really bothers him is that this person refuses to learn and still believes himself to be superior.
