The Breach

Through an otherworldly breach, Crystaline Entities flood your world like a flying swarm of terror. About he size of a human head, with jagged, clear crystals emerging from every part of their being, and they have a horrifying power. Every creature they touch leaves only the empty shell of a mindless savage in its place, known as "the Hollowed". Their pale, grimacing faces and blackened, eyeless sockets seek only to decimate all lifeforms.

The blood-stained banners of both allies and old enemies fly side-by-side to counter these horrors and their crystaline masters. At the cost of countless lives, the Crystaline Entities and their soulless servants have been beaten back to Blackwood Forest, from whence they came. But they now fight more ferociously than ever, for it is their final stand... as well as it is yours. The world's armies are depleted, and you must fight your way through the hordes of the Hollowed and the Crystaline Entities to seal the Breach forever. If you fail, it is the end of your world. Whether you use swords, bows, or sorcery is up to you... but you must not fail.

It's midnight at the Siege of Blackwood. The pounding rain is as relentless as an endless volley of arrows, turning the camp into a mixture of mud and blood. Inside the dimly lit tent, Captain Thorne is hunched over a map, the flickering candlelight creating dancing shadows in the nooks as if trying to escape the sounds of distant war drums and clattering of exhausted soldiers outside the tent. Trails of muddy footprints make unofficial paths about the flooring, unintentionally dragged in by countless officers over days passed. The dark eyes of Captain Thorne don't bother to look up as you enter. Tonight he wears his scarred face like a reflection of his mind.
