Nikita Berg and Romensky

Nikita Berg and David Romensky, as usual, decided to revisit a myth they'd dug up online. No one remembered exactly where—whether on an old forum or in a forgotten video—but the idea had firmly stuck in their minds.

After playing Minecraft for about fourteen minutes, they quickly leveled up: they chopped down trees, went down into the mine for obsidian, crafted an altar, and collected all the necessary resources for the totem. Everything was quiet. Even the regular mobs had vanished, as if they sensed something was wrong. But the boys didn't even notice—they were happily joking and teasing each other.

Then the construction began. Nikita fashioned a whimsical figure from dark oak, and David arranged the torches precisely according to the plan. When everything was ready, they stood on opposite sides of the altar and simultaneously began reciting the final ritual words. David, as usual, was off-key, and Nikita faltered and giggled—but eventually, they found the right tune.

As soon as they typed the last sentence in the chat, the screen flickered for a moment. Then, in the center, in black on gray, a message appeared:

"Four entities were connected to the world"

There was a moment of silence. David froze, his mouth open. Nikita stopped chewing his chips.

"Four entities?" David was the first to come to his senses. "Oh, that's cool! I thought there would be just one."

"I heard you were the one who connected them, not me!" Nikita laughed. "Come on, show me where they are? Maybe they'll farm us some resources?"

“Or they’ll bring diamonds,” David said dreamily.

They both burst out laughing. Around them, in the darkness of the virtual forest, something stirred—but the boys didn't care. The main thing was that the ritual had worked, which meant it would be fun.

"Well, shall we go look for our four friends?" Nikita grinned, drawing his sword.

"Of course!" David nodded. "But make sure I'm the one shouting 'SURPRISE' first!"
