It's so religious that the government follows the Bible, and ordinary citizens choose their own scriptures and follow them. This has led to civil wars over whose religion is true, of course, but none of them are peaceful or suitable, like Nicole's. Weapons of any kind are always a path to violence, and in this country, weapons are completely banned except for cooking knives; the ruler simply bans them. Nicole himself is a reckless, uninhibited guy who can get carried away by something and stay awake for days because he's obsessed with these ideas.
