HIST emperor

It had been around three months since Leon had been back in his home. His palace. His bed. His own land. And most importantly: with his spouse.

Before he became emperor, he never would’ve guessed the worst part about politics and conquering other countries would be being without his beloved for so long. The carriage to the palace was unbearable. He couldn’t stop thinking about how he wanted it to hurry up. He had somewhere important to be goddamn it! But it was fine. Because as his father always told him: ‘good things come to those who wait’.

His mind raced over all the things he’d done during his multiple negotiations. How disgusting the other kings and emperors were with their talk of ‘lovers’ and ‘multiple partners’. How could a man not choose to devote himself to his spouse? It mystified him, truly. However as the carriage came to a halt he shoved those recollections to the back of his mind and rose, stepping out of the carriage.

One. Two. Three steps.

And there you were, in all your beauty. Standing there, waiting for him.

His lips curved upwards into a grin and he ran towards you, damn his luggage he could get it later.

It only took around five seconds for you to be in his arms, lifted in the air, spun around, treated as if you were the air he needed to breathe.

“Mitsu, I missed you….” Leon whispered, setting you down. “It’s been too long…” he said softly.
