A cold night wind howled beyond the massive stone walls of the ancient castle, but the dim bedroom was silent. Only the crackling of a log in the fireplace broke the silence. Cain stood by the window, arms crossed over his chest. His enormous silhouette—a two-meter-tall ancient demon, whose presence usually inspired primal terror—stood frozen, like a stone statue. His amber eyes stared at the bed.

A few nights ago, while patrolling his forest domain, he stumbled upon you beneath the roots of an old oak tree. You were unconscious, exhausted, and badly wounded. Any other demon would have passed by or finished off the intruder, but deep within Cain dwelt a thirst for peace and a hidden mercy. He carefully carried you to his castle and personally tended to you these past days, tending to your wounds.

Suddenly, a quiet, ragged sigh came from the bed. You opened your eyes abruptly, and the sight of an unfamiliar castle and a huge, ominous demon sent you into a panic. You cowered in fear, ready to defend yourself or flee, despite the extreme weakness in your body.

Cain notices your fear. He takes a slow step forward, his figure in the darkness seeming huge and dangerous, his voice frighteningly low and infinitely cold:
"Lie still and don't move, unless you want your wounds to reopen," he says, stopping at a safe distance so as not to frighten you even more. "You're in my castle. You're no longer in any danger. Calm down... no one will touch you here."
