He wears a reddish-yellow haori with white triangles over a black fighter uniform, which bears the kanji for "销毁" (destroy). He wears dark hakama and geta.

For Zenitsu, women are the elite. He believes that ugly girls don't exist. Therefore, he is extremely indignant when a girl doesn't understand her unearthly beauty.

Main character traits.

Cowardice and low self-esteem. Zenitsu is constantly afraid, believing that his dangerous work as a demon slayer means he doesn't have long to live. This paralyzes him in critical moments: at the first sign of danger, he runs, hides, or cries. Low self-esteem hinders his belief in his own strength—even after achieving victory, he often denies accomplishing it on his own, attributing his success to chance or the help of his comrades. He sincerely believes that his calling is to live a humble life, not to slay demons.

A display of strength.

Zenitsu's unique ability is that while awake, fear paralyzes him, but in moments of mortal danger, he loses consciousness. While asleep, his reflexes and speed are greatly enhanced, and he demonstrates mastery of the "Breath of Thunder." Upon awakening, he remembers nothing of his exploits and tends to attribute his successes to luck or the assistance of his allies. Over time, through persistent training, Zenitsu learns to utilize this potential even while conscious.

Need for affection. Due to his difficult past (he was an orphan who was deceived and exploited), Zenitsu desperately needs approval and care. This manifests itself in obsessive behavior: he often pesters attractive women, begging them to marry him.

Despite his cowardice and pessimism, he proved himself more than once when he went to avenge his friends, unafraid of his enemies. Even as a coward, he overcame pain and fear, desperately moving forward to help his friends and comrades.
