{Rise of the Guardians}

Jack Frost is the spirit of winter. Jack is a mischievous teenager by nature. He refuses to abide by the rules and duties of the Guardians. He simply wants to use his magical staff to create winter fun and mischief. For a time, he was invisible to humans. Jack was once an ordinary mortal boy. He and his younger sister went skating on a frozen lake, but the ice began to crack. Jack saved his sister, but fell into the water and drowned. Then Moonface (Moonman) transformed him into a winter spirit. When the servants of the villain Pitchfork steal Jack's baby teeth, including those he had, this causes the memories of his past life to return. Realizing what he has done, Jack understands his true purpose. After helping the last child (Jamie) who still believes in magic defeat Pitchfork, Jack officially becomes a Guardian—the Guardian of Fun. As the spirit of winter, Jack possesses magical powers: he can control ice, snow, and cold with his staff. He is also immortal. Jack is 18 years old. Initially, Jack was reluctant to take on a serious mission, but under the influence of the other Guardians and through his connection with Jamie, he changes and finds his place on the team.

Santa Claus. His full name is Nick Severyanin. He is the leader of the Guardians of Dreams and holds the title of Guardian of Miracles. He lives at the North Pole, in the Ice Castle. In his workshop, he is assisted not by elves, but by yetis—they built the castle and the toy factory. Nick wears a black papakha (a fur hat) and a Russian fur coat. He has a personal collection of nesting dolls. Nick is a man of action, impulsive, yet kind and fair. When he gets excited, he exclaims, "Oh, Shostakovich!" or "Rimsky-Korsakov!" And in his workshop, he listens to and hums Igor Stravinsky's "Firebird" suite. Together with the other Guardians (the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, and the Sandman), he protects children's dreams and faith in magic. When the evil spirit Pitch Black appears, seeking to replace children's bright dreams with nightmares and make them stop believing in fairy tales, it's Nick Severyanin who assembles the team. He helps the newest member, Jack Frost, believe in himself and realize his destiny.

The Tooth Fairy is one of the Guardians of Dreams. She acts as the Keeper of Memories: she collects children's baby teeth (which contain the most precious childhood memories) with the help of her fairy assistants and stores them in her palace. When a child needs to remember something, she brings back those memories. Her design is inspired by the hummingbird: her body is covered in iridescent feathers and she has bird-like wings. Her movements are sometimes jerky, and her speech can be rapid.

The Easter Bunny is the legendary guardian of eggs, the herald of Easter, and the Guardian of Hope. His full name is E. Aster Bunnymund. He hails from Australia, which explains his Australian accent. He possesses magical powers: he masterfully wields enchanted boomerangs and can create rabbit holes for teleportation. He can also control plant growth. Like the other Guardians, his power depends directly on children's faith in him. When almost all the children stopped believing in him, he transformed into a small rabbit (he later returned to normal). The Easter Bunny is part of the Dream Guardians, along with Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Sandman. Their task is to protect children's dreams and hopes. However, their peace is disturbed by the evil spirit, the Boogeyman, who wants to make children stop believing in fairy tales and replace them with nightmares. The Guardians were helping the Easter Bunny hide eggs for the holiday. However, in his labyrinth, they encounter a girl who accidentally ended up there. Later, Jack Frost, trying to bring the girl home, stumbles into Pitchfork's hideout and finds a box containing a child's teeth. The Guardians, seeing this, mistakenly believe Jack has betrayed them, and he leaves the team.

Sandman (Sandy). Sandman is one of the Guardians of Dreams. He is considered the first Guardian chosen by Moonface, and it is in his honor that the Order of Dream Guardians is named. Mute. He does not speak a word—instead, he communicates through sand images he creates above his head, or through gestures. It is reminiscent of a game of charades. He is a maker of dreams. Using golden sand, he gives children kind and good dreams. He has a personal score to settle with Pitch. He has a long-standing feud with Pitch, the Nightmare King. Many centuries ago, Pitch was powerful, but after the appearance of the Guardians, he weakened. However, later, he managed to use fear to turn Sandman's golden sand into black and create an army of nightmares from it. Fate. Pitch absorbs Sandman into black sand, depriving him of life. However, later, thanks to the faith of his friends and the boy Jamie, Sandman is returned to life. The Sandman is an ancient, wise, and incredibly powerful hero. Despite his peaceful nature, he proves himself a skilled fighter, masterfully wielding his magical sand in battles with Pitchfork. His full name is Sanderson Mansnoozie, and his title is His Nocturnal Splendor, Sandman the First, Lord Patron of Sleep and Dreams, bestowed upon him by Moonface.

Moonface is not a human, but a mystical, almost divine being. He is credited with initially summoning the other Guardians (Santa Claus, Sandman, the Tooth Fairy, the Easter Bunny) and later choosing a new one—Jack Frost. It was Moonface who prophesied that Jack would become the Guardian of Dreams and Fancies. Moreover, Moonface himself created Jack Frost. In the past, he was an ordinary boy: he and his sister went skating on a frozen lake, but the ice turned out to be thin. Jack saved his sister, but fell into the water and drowned. Moonface then transformed him into the ethereal spirit of winter.

Pitchfall (Boogeyman). Pitchfall is the essence of fear and the King of Nightmares. Centuries ago, he terrified people, but after the emergence of the Guardians, he became weak and unknown. However, he later used fear to turn the Sandman's golden sand black and created an army of nightmares from it. His goal is to steal children's dreams and replace them with his own nightmares, causing them to lose faith in the Guardians. Pitchfall's servants steal the Tooth Fairy's fairies and children's teeth, including Jack Frost's, causing him to lose his memories of his past life. Pitchfall manipulates the situation to weaken faith in the Guardians. He frames Jack Frost, forcing him to hand over his staff, and then throws them both into the abyss. But Jack survives and, remembering his past, understands his true purpose. He helps the only child who still believes in magic (Jamie Bennett) and becomes a true Guardian of Dreams.
