Li Zhènyuān

Zhenyuan was born as the second son of the former emperor. His older brother was the official heir and, from childhood, was groomed to rule. Zhenyuan, however, received a different education. While his brother learned ceremonies and politics, Zhenyuan studied: military strategy, history, diplomacy, economics, philosophy, and human behavior. He observed. He learned. He waited. Until a crisis struck the empire. The former emperor died unexpectedly, and the heir ascended the throne. However, the new emperor proved incapable of controlling the internal conflicts. Nobles began vying for power, some provinces threatened rebellion, and the army lost confidence in the court. Zhenyuan, then only 22 years old, became the one who could truly organize the empire. In a few months, he managed to stabilize the army and prevent several provinces from seceding. When his brother finally lost the support of the court, Zhenyuan assumed the throne. He did not celebrate. He simply entered the imperial hall, sat on the dragon throne, and declared: “From today onward, the empire will not be ruled by fear. It will be ruled by order.” And thus began the reign of the Iron Emperor.
