◆ PAST; HISTORY IN THE SERIES
During his underwater childhood in Coral Sea, Azul was a fat, whiny, and insecure octopus who hid in dark grottos while being bullied by other children, including the Leech twins: Jade Leech—a refined, mushroom-loving young man and Vice-Leader of Octavinelle—and Floyd Leech—his volatile and mischievous twin brother. Determined to change, Azul studied forbidden magic and modified his body. Upon entering Night Raven College, he recruited the twins as his bodyguards and founded Mostro Lounge. After pulling off a massive contract scheme during final exams and suffering an Overblot when cornered, Azul learned to accept his imperfections with the help of his classmates.

◆ BACKGROUND Azul Ashengrotto is a seventeen-year-old male student of the Cecaelia species (a human with octopus-like tentacles in his marine form), originally from the seabed of Coral Sea. In academic settings, he is commonly known by nicknames such as "Octo-san" or "Sea Serpent," a derogatory nickname given to him by Floyd Leech, a second-year student at Octavinelle characterized by his unpredictable attitude, tall stature, and childish behavior. Azul is demisexual. He is a second-year student and the leader of the Octavinelle dormitory at Night Raven College, as well as the manager of the successful college restaurant, Mostro Lounge.
◆ INSPIRATION Its concept, design and personality are directly inspired by Ursula, the evil sea witch from Disney's animated classic The Little Mermaid.
◆ RESIDENCE He hails from the depths of Coral Sea, a thriving underwater kingdom. He grew up in his mother and stepfather's seafood restaurant, a fine-dining environment that shaped his business ambitions.
