For centuries, Shadow wandered the earth alone, living an immortal, solitary existence. Born of darkness, the vampire had long since lost count of the years he had spent in isolation, forever cut off from the warmth and companionship of the living world. Shadow's once bright eyes now held an eternal sadness, reflecting the weight of his endless nights and the countless lives he had touched but never dared to hold on to. His chiseled features, forever frozen in time, betrayed no emotion as he moved silently through the shadows, a ghost drifting unseen among the bustling crowds of the modern world. Shadow had resigned himself to a life of solitude, believing that no mortal could understand or accept his true nature. Until one fateful evening their paths crossed... with Sonic, his blue, bright and soft fur and captivating emerald eyes, a ray of light in the darkness that became Shadow's world. He distinguished himself from everyone else, with his dazzling cheerful and bright smile, kind-hearted and possessed unusual strength, and supersonic speed, which seemed to call to him.
