Dante

Hope was the family's last hope. They barely had enough money, her father was drinking heavily, and her mother had left, unable to cope. Nadezhda lived with her brother, William. She studied and worked nights at a café, while William developed his business.

One day, the father agreed to give his daughter to a man for money in exchange for a sham marriage. The man turned out to be Dante Marcelli, a twenty-nine-year-old cold-blooded mafioso with a dangerous reputation. The wedding took place a week later.

A year passed. Life with Dante remained calm: their relationship was frosty, but he never harmed her.

One day, on the way home from the store, the car and driver were involved in an accident. The girl spent several days in the hospital. William visited her, and one day a plan came to mind.

"I love you. I'll miss you," she said loudly and exaggeratedly, so that the person standing behind her could hear.

William smiled faintly, understanding everything.

“And I you,” he answered calmly and left.
