Warumono-san
Kanji: ワルモノサン,
Aliases: Mister Villain "General"
Affiliation: Evil Organization,
Occupation: General information,
Physical Description
Species: Alien
Gender: Male
Eye color: Yellow
appearance
Working
While on duty, Warumono-san combs his dark hair back, revealing the upper part of his face. A distinct shadow obscures the area around his eyes and the bridge of his nose, making it nearly impossible to discern his very light eyebrows. He wears a large cloak, fastened at the chest with chains, with skeletal arms draped over his shoulders. His large, clawed hands are covered with gloves. His pointed ears and spiked tail are clearly visible, further emphasizing his inhuman appearance.
After hours
In his free time, Warumono-san wears his dark, wavy hair unbraided, with his bangs covering his eyes. Only his pointed ears are visible above his hairline. He usually wears a black turtleneck, dark pants, and a bluish-gray coat, and he wears a silver ring on his index finger. In contrast to his upright and imposing posture during work, he usually slouches off duty, making him appear shorter, though he is approximately 190 cm (6 ft 3 in).
Personality
Warumono-san is usually calm, collected, and unflappable, rarely displaying strong emotions. Despite his usual demeanor, he can become noticeably upset when his expectations or carefully laid plans are dashed. At such moments, he may raise his voice or react violently, often frightening those around him, even though he has no intention of harming them.
As a general in the Evil Organization, Warumono-san values a healthy work-life balance. He firmly believes that both he and his subordinates deserve proper rest after a stressful day at work. He takes his days off seriously and follows personal rules: spend them wisely, enjoy sound sleep and delicious food, and completely separate work from personal time. If he accidentally bumps into a colleague on his day off, he believes in quickly leaving and pretending they didn't notice.
In his free time, Warumono-san has a special love for pandas: he often goes to the zoo to observe them and collects panda merchandise. His love of cute things extends to other animals, including polar bears, red pandas, and kittens, as well as steamed buns and his favorite convenience store. When people bring him panda-shaped food, he often hesitates to eat it because it's too cute to waste. Despite leading an organization whose goal is to conquer Earth, he secretly dreams of his favorite places and cherished things continuing to thrive even after humanity is destroyed.
Background
Little is known about Warumono-san's life before the events of the series. He is an alien sent to Earth as part of the Evil Organization's invasion force, though neither his real name, home planet, family, nor other details of his early life are revealed in the anime.
By the beginning of the story, Warumono-san has already risen to the rank of general and has become one of the Evil Organization's top commanders, overseeing operations on Earth. His primary mission is to lead the conquest of Earth and exterminate humanity in preparation for the occupation. Unlike Rooney, Warumono-san is a skilled fighter and an experienced field commander, regularly engaging in battle with the Rangers.
At some point before arriving on Earth, Warumono-san befriended Rooney, although the circumstances of their meeting remain unknown. After moving to Earth, he quickly adapted to human society, learned its customs and daily routine, lived in a normal apartment, and commuted to work like a typical office worker. During this time, he developed an extraordinary love for pandas, which became one of his greatest passions.
Throughout the anime, Warumono-san strictly separates his work and personal time, adhering to his "Weekend Constitution." Despite his relaxed behavior on weekends, he remains loyal to the Evil Organization and continues to serve as one of its top commanders without any change in rank or duties.
Relationship
Evil organization
Rooney is one of Warumono-san's subordinates, working as a researcher for the Evil Organization. As his superior, Warumono-san tasks Rooney with gathering information, conducting research, and supporting the organization's operations. Rooney is a diligent subordinate who strives to meet Warumono-san's expectations and frequently reports his findings to him.
In his free time, Rooney often disrupts Warumono-san's plans by inviting him to lunch, contacting him about work matters, or showing up unexpectedly at his home, much to Warumono-san's displeasure. Despite Warumono-san's constant avoidance of these meetings and his refusal to discuss work during his free time, he remains on good terms with Rooney. They sometimes have fun together: exchanging gifts, eating tangerines, and discussing Warumono-san's love of pandas. Rooney isn't shy about teasing him either: she once remarked that with his hair down, he looked like a panda, and Warumono-san didn't mind.
Trigger is a general in the Evil Organization and one of Warumono-san's colleagues, holding the same high-ranking position within the organization. Although they collaborate to achieve the organization's goals, they are also portrayed as professional rivals due to their different personalities.
Unlike Warumono-san, Trigger isn't particularly careful about separating work and personal time. He often tries to drag Warumono-san into work matters or provoke him into a fight, even on his days off. Warumono-san usually ignores him, walks away, or responds curtly and bluntly, without engaging in dialogue. Although Trigger's persistence often irritates him, Warumono-san rarely displays genuine hostility toward his fellow general and prefers to avoid unnecessary conflicts until after his days off.
Red, the leader of the Akatsuki Rangers, is Warumono-san's main adversary during the battles between the Evil Organization and the Rangers. Despite their rivalry, they have met several times during Warumono-san's days off. Each time, Warumono-san insisted on a truce for the rest of his vacation, though Red was initially reluctant. Their off-duty meetings are quite cordial, and they once bonded over their shared love of pandas. Warumono-san also discreetly helped Red when he got lost, for which Red thanked him. Red refrains from fighting when Warumono-san is off duty, respecting his request, despite the fact that they remain enemies.
<Soten Blue> Blue confronts Warumono-san during Ranger missions, which is part of his duties as an Akatsuki Ranger. Outside of work, they rarely interact.Shinonom Pink
Pink fights Warumono-san as part of the Akatsuki Rangers. One of his days off, Warumono-san found her magical amulet and turned it in at the lost and found office, reminding her to be careful with such things. His thoughtful gesture left a lasting impression on Pink, who took a liking to him and later wanted to give him chocolates for Valentine's Day. In turn, Warumono-san is always polite to her during their casual encounters.
Black is one of Warumono-san's opponents within the Akatsuki Rangers, though direct clashes between them have been relatively rare. One of Warumono-san's weekends, Black helped him look after a stray cat, giving him a bag of cat food before leaving. Warumono-san was grateful for the gesture.
<Others>Sakura
Warumono-san first met the Cherry Blossom Spirit while spending his day off beneath the blossoming trees. Despite knowing she was a spirit, he treated her with kindness and respect, speaking to her tenderly and occasionally leaving small offerings beneath the tree. He understood that her existence was limited to the cherry blossom season and cherished the brief time they could spend together. A peaceful relationship developed between them, and the spirit began to trust him, feeling safe in his presence. There is no room for conflict in their relationship, as Warumono-san never views her as anything other than another precious life.
The Boy with the Oak
The spirit of the oak boy first encountered Warumono-san while tending to the spirit of the cherry blossom girl. At first, the boy addressed him as "old man," but gradually came to rely on him after Warumono-san volunteered to act as an intermediary between the two spirits, conveying messages and small items they couldn't exchange themselves. Although the boy is more straightforward, Warumono-san is patient and treats him with the same kindness he showed the spirit of the cherry blossom girl. Through his selfless efforts, the boy develops a deep respect for Warumono-san, who helps maintain the connection between the two spirits despite their inability to communicate directly.
