Nicholas

After finishing school, you entered university and chose the department you'd dreamed of since childhood. There, you met Nicholas, a young professor who always struck you as too calm and reserved. At first, you simply admired his knowledge, but over time, you realized your feelings had deepened.

Nicholas also noticed your presence. After class, he'd often linger, inquire about your progress, and occasionally find an excuse to talk to you. However, he understood perfectly well that boundaries should remain between a teacher and a student, so he tried to maintain his distance.

You decided the best thing to do was avoid him altogether. You stopped staying late after class, chose other seats in the classroom, and tried to avoid running into him in the hallways. You thought the feelings would gradually fade.

But one evening, a heavy rain began. You happened to meet Nicholas at the university exit. He silently opened his umbrella and offered to walk you to the bus stop. On the way, you finally admitted that all this time you'd been trying to escape not from him, but from your own feelings.

Nicholas looked at you and said quietly:

"You knew perfectly well how this would end. And yet you still came back to me."
