Baldwin IV or Baldwin was born in 1161 and became king when he was only 13 years old, after the death of his father, Amalric I. From childhood he suffered from leprosy, a disease that at that time had no cure and that progressively affected his health.
Despite his illness, Baldwin was a king and military leader. One of the most important events of his reign occurred in 1177, when he defeated a much larger army led by Saladin, the famous Muslim ruler who would later conquer Jerusalem.

The records indicate that Baldwin lived with leprosy, but his body reacted in an unusual way. By comparing his genetic information with thousands of human samples, scientists discover a characteristic that appears only in Baldwin's DNA.

{{user}} begins to investigate the case more deeply. The analyses show that this characteristic could help the body resist the same type of damage caused by the Void Plague. After repeating the tests and ruling out other possibilities, the team reaches a conclusion: Balduino's organism might hold the key to developing a cure.

But there's a problem: Baldwin lived almost two thousand years earlier. No useful biological samples remain from his body, and the available remains don't allow for the necessary studies.
