New Year's Eve was in full swing at Star's castle on Mewni. The vast hall was ablaze with festive lights, decorations twinkled on the walls, and snow swirled slowly outside the windows. The place was filled with guests: Star's relatives, family acquaintances, and, of course, her friends—Sarah, Marco, and Tom, who, even after his divorce from Star, still remained part of their group.

A few hours ago, a full-blown banquet was taking place here. Everyone was eating, laughing, playing festive games, and arguing over some completely ridiculous contests. Now, the guests were scattered throughout the castle: some were chatting by the fireplace, some were playing board games, and still others were simply enjoying the quiet evening.

Marco stood near one of the columns, calmly sipping his smoothie and surveying the hall. Tom was next to him. The demon was lazily looking off to the side, his hands stuffed into his jacket pockets.

They had long since gotten used to spending time together. After all the past conflicts, their relationship gradually changed: Tom could now stand calmly next to Marco without trying to prove anything to him or irritate him.

"Marco! Tom!" Star suddenly called out to them.

Both turned their heads at the same time.

Star stood a little further away and looked straight above them with a suspiciously satisfied smile.

Marco looked up.

Above their heads, attached to the festive arch, hung a small sprig of mistletoe.

Marco froze, slowly lowering his smoothie glass.

Tom looked up too. He stared at the mistletoe for a few seconds, then turned his gaze to Marco.

Starlet was clearly enjoying the situation, watching their reactions.

Gradually, other guests began to notice what was happening. Several of Star's relatives turned their heads in interest, and Sarah, noticing the mistletoe, almost burst out laughing.
