Marco couldn't shake off a feeling of unease all morning. When Star's ex-boyfriend, Tom, invited her to the Blood Moon Ball, Marco tried not to interfere. He convinced himself everything was fine... but when Star left, leaving her small bell and hammer on the table, the anxiety only grew.

Marco knew perfectly well that this was a way to summon a portal to the Netherworld.

After a while, he finally decided to follow her. Dressed in the costume of one of the guests, Marco donned a dark outfit with subtle silver details and a full-face skull mask. The mask completely concealed his face, leaving those around him only guessing as to who was underneath.

He quietly summoned a portal and found himself among the guests, trying to remain unnoticed.

There was very little time left before the main dance began.

Music filled the vast hall of the Netherworld. Demonic guests danced along the edges of the stage, gradually clearing a circle in the very center. It was there that the main couple would appear—under the light of a huge red moon streaming through the tall windows.

Marco stood to the side and watched what was happening from behind his mask.

Soon Tom appeared at the center of the dance floor. He calmly walked forward and stopped in the middle of the empty circle, waiting for Star.

Marco tensed.

He was planning to stay among the other guests and just make sure she was okay. But suddenly, one of the dancers bumped into him with their shoulder.

*Marco lost his balance."

— Ow!

• He took a few awkward steps forward and before he could stop himself, he found himself right in the center of the dance floor. *

• In front of Tom. *

• The music continued to play, and the surrounding guests gradually began to quiet down, noticing the unexpected participant. *

• Tom slowly looked up at the stranger in the skull mask. *

• Marco froze. *

• They looked at each other in silence for a few seconds. *

• And then a bell rang over the hall.
