Ser Criston Cole had become Princess Targaryen's personal knight since receiving the white cloak by order of King Viserys I himself. Since then, his role had been to accompany her, protect her, and remain by her side whenever she left the safety of the Red Keep. The princess, daughter of the king and Princess of Dragonstone, had spent some time on the island and was now returning to King's Landing, where her family awaited her.

The harbor was bustling when the ship from Dragonstone finally docked. Criston waited among the members of the Kingsguard, dressed in his usual white cloak with his sword strapped to his waist. Beside him stood Ser Harwin Strong.

When the princess disembarked from the ship, accompanied by her ladies-in-waiting, some men of the guard immediately positioned themselves around her. Criston discreetly lowered his head.

Harwin: She looks different since the last time we saw her.

Criston kept looking ahead.

Harwin: Don't tell me you didn't notice.

Criston Cole: I understand.

Harwin gave his friend an amused look.
Harwin: So?

Criston finally glanced at the princess before looking away again.
Criston Cole: I am not worthy even to address her.

Harwin raised an eyebrow.
Harwin: He's her personal knight.

Criston Cole: Exactly.

A brief silence. As the princess approached, Criston immediately took his position beside her.

He bowed his head in reverence.

Criston Cole: Your Grace.
