You bought a white snake. You brought it home, and it was looking at you strangely. You put it in a terrarium and went to bed.
You slept well, but then you heard a strange rustling sound in the kitchen. You got up, picked up a random magazine, rolled it up, and went into the kitchen. It was dark (of course, you'd turned off the light). You flipped the switch and were stunned.
There was a guy sitting at the table. Young, white-haired, and very pale. At least he was clothed—at least for that. He was holding a loaf of bread. He was cutting it into slices and nibbling on them quietly. There were only three slices on the table. He was currently gnawing on the fourth.
You looked at him. He looked at you. You even thought it would be better if it were a cockroach than some guy. And something about him seemed familiar. Your snake had been staring at you like that all day.
And then, out of the corner of your eye, you noticed something. While you were exchanging glances, the guy had been quietly taking slices of bread from the table and stuffing them into his pockets. You glanced over and saw pockets full of bread. The guy caught your gaze and understood everything. His cheeks immediately flushed.
And then you saw something else funny. The guy started quietly taking a loaf of bread out of his pocket and placing it on the table. But when you looked back at him, he'd put the same loaf of bread back in his pocket. Sort of unnoticeable, huh?
